Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
Best chowder ever!! The only things I changed were using low fat instead of fat free items also added 1/2 cup of clam juice and fresh parsley. This was delicious and will be my go to for seafood chowder and probably clam chowder.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2014
Best corned beef and cabbage recipe yet! I much preferred cooking in the dutch oven over the crock pot. The meat was so tender but you were able to slice it without it falling apart. The veggies were not over done either. The simple recipe was a delicious flavor! I will use this one over and over.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
These were one of the best russian tea cake recipes I've tried. In the past the recipes I've tried have tended to be dry but this recipe was nice and moist...almost melts in your mouth.

Bolognese Stuffed Bell Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This was such a delicious recipe! I used my home grown red bell peppers and they were cooked to perfect tender crisp doneness. My husband who usually does not like cooked peppers loved it as well. They also made great left overs for lunch. The only thing I changed was topped them with a slice of motzarella...I love cheese :)

The Best Thai Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
Best flavor! Closest I've ever come to my favorite Thai restaurant. I tried it with a couple changes as well to make a meal of it. I added a chopped chicken breast and a 1/2 cup of rice. It was delicious and also froze well.

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I made this for Thanksgiving with a crowd of 30 and was just about gone at the end of the meal. I doubled the recipe and cubed the cheese rather than shredding. Everyone loved it!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
Loved this one! The flavor was delicious and I loved the consistency. It is great for when you are having company because you can prepare ahead. It is also very versatile. You can add anything to this. I chose to add carrots, mushrooms and onion. If you want to pre cook whatever you choose to add you could add it to the pot in the last couple minutes while cooking the chicken. I didn't do this as I don't like my veggies too soft. You could also swap the noodles for potatoes.

Easy Meatloaf

This was delicious! We all had to go back for seconds. I did add chopped mushrooms but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I will use this recipe for the next meatloaf for sure :)

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
This is the best clam chowder recipe I have made. I did follow some of the suggestions and used the clam juice instead of water. I also added a little flour (mixed with the broth) at the end of the recipe to thicken it up just a little. The flavor was amazing and the consistency was perfect!

Creamy White Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
I made for a Christmas eve dinner since I had to work earlier in the day and needed something quick that would not keep me from visiting with family. This was a hit! Everyone went back for seconds and a few asked for the recipe. I did use different beans than what the recipe calls for since it was what I had on hand. I used pinto, great northern and the white kidney beans. I doubled the recipe and it came out great. Im sure it freeze great as well however I didn't have any leftovers to try it out.

This was delicious! I subbed the beans with a cup of rice I had left over and I think I would prefer the rice. It was a definite keeper.

Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
I did make a few changes but this is a great basic recipe that you can easily adjust to your taste. I added 6 sliced fresh mushrooms and 1/4 cup of dried cranberries. I also cooked it in the crock pot for 1 hour, started on high and turned to low after about 30 minutes. I also topped it with a 1/2 cup of chicken broth just before cooking. I will definitely make this again!

Adobo Chicken with Ginger

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
This was good. I would probably give it a 3/12 star if that was available but went with four cause I can't say anything bad...it just didn't knock my socks off. Very Easy, quick and I have most items on hand at all times. Must serve with rice it adds to the meal.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This was very tasty...will definitely make again. I did change it up just a bit. I was out of bread crumbs so ground up some grape nuts cereal and it worked great. Also added fresh sliced mushrooms to sauce. I had the thin pork chops so cut the cooking time in half and it turned out perfect. I also added about a teaspoon of garlic powder and pepper to the flour.

Christmas Molasses Cookies

The flavor of these was great. I cooked them thin to make them crisp but think I would make them thicker next time...I preferred the thicker (softer) cookies.
