About this Cook
Busy working mom that loves to cook when I have the time but hate to just put out a quick "have to" meal when there's no time.
My favorite things to cook
Soups or anything on the grill. I love trying new recipes and experimenting with little changes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
One sister does thanksgiving dinner every year some things change depending on how many of the 8 of us get together. The things that never change are me bringing the deviled eggs, hosting sister does her veggie caserole and one brother always brings fudge (mom's recipe).
My cooking triumphs
My family says I make the best potato salad, salsa and deviled eggs. I guess since I get the most cheers on those that would be my triumph. I personally love my tortilla soup.
My cooking tragedies
Rice. I struggle with a good steamed rice (even in a rice cooker) and can never get a fried rice right (always seems to be missing something.

Lucie's Vegetarian Chili
I loved this but my hubby didn't care for all the veggies. The flavor just got better every day since I had plenty of leftovers and it froze for later lunches as well.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I
Best corned beef and cabbage recipe yet! I much preferred cooking in the dutch oven over the crock pot. The meat was so tender but you were able to slice it without it falling apart. The veggies were not over done either. The simple recipe was a delicious flavor! I will use this one over and over.
