Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
So good. I didnt use sun-dried at all only cuz i didnt have them so i just added an extra tomato. I found little grape tomatos work even better being less juice. You REALLY have to use plum tomatos tho for this(or the grape) or its way way to liquidy. I kept everything else the same. I didnt put it on bagguettes. I served as a dip with plan n sea salt bagle chips. It was gone fast

Avocado Lime Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
WOW this is so good. I followed the recipe to a T and it was amazing. Used a gram cust i found on here that had cinnamon in it. I would really recommend it because the cinn. really complements the lime. Does taste just like key lime pie. OH, and i didnt have an ice cream maker so i just had it, put it in the cooled crust and froze it. It lasted us all week being frozen(its justme and hubby to feed)

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
very delicious-would definitely double or even triple the recipe if you plan on making it for guests. ONLY do 3 min in the oven. I did for and because they stay on the hot tray as you are putting on pecans, he chocolates continue to melt and some of mine melted way to much and became a mess and devoured the pretzel making it not look so nice-i also toasted my peacans

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
very good but i don't think if i made all the changes that were suggested they would have been. I did as someone suggested with adding baking soda to sour cream and setting arsde then mixing butter sugar(i did an extra 1/4 c. of sugar) eggs and 1 T. vanilla and setting aside then mixing all the dry. Add egg/butter/sugar mix to dry then add sour cream. After i cut the dough in half added 1/2c dried cranberries to one half and 1/2 c. chocolate chips to the other to make two different kinds giving me about 8 of each. I shaped them by hand. After they cooled i iced them (1c powder sugar, 2 T. whole milk, and 1/2tsp vanilla; mix and apply with pastry brush) they came out perfect!!!

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
these were amazing! The only thing i did different is used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I did bake 7 min with potato halves face down then 7 face up then with a paper towel collected the little puddles of oil before putting on cheese, onions and bacon.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
i thought this was an amazing coconut pie. I followed some of the other suggestions and did 1 can cream of coconut(which came out to 1 1/2c) and 1 1/2 c half and half, 2 eggs plus one egg yolk and 1/2 c cornstarch and whisked the entire time it was heating...it got really thick with in 7-10 minutes..i think you would be fine with just the flour because it did get super super thick so i think flour may have been better. The taste was delicious tho.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
the actual cookie taste was good but cooking time was way off for me. Maybe its my oven but i had to turn it down to 375 and i only cooked 6 minutes. By the time i got the cooking timing down right i only had 1/2 the amount of cookies :-( i substituted the cream of tarter for lemon juice because i didn't have any but thats the only ingredient i changed. My cookie also came out really flat. But like i said, the taste is good and thats what counts

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
very very good. I only marinated it for 10 hrs tho but it still came out nice. Makes alot of sauce so i will probably cut it in half next time. Also i used sirlon steak, a little cheaper, and it was still super good. I also stabed my meat a bunch with a fork and sprinkled meat tenderizor on it before dipping and i fliped then in the middle of my day too. Dont know if those changes matter but i would definately recommend this recipe

Fortune Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
i thought this was a really easy recipe for them. It was pretty good. The first time i made it made one giant one(it was going to hold a gift card for by friends birthday gift, thought it would be a fun way of wraping it)it worked but kinda chewy. I think it was due to the size though.

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
ive been making this for about a year now and have tried stuffing it with all different things. The best i think is using feta cheese(regular not basil) and go heavy, dried cranberries, choped green onions, sundried tomatos, sprinkle of basel and garlic powder, and bacon. Last time was the first time i used bacon and it was fanominal. My husband just about died (and me too) when taking that 1st bit and every bit after was just as enjoyable. Its one of those things where your stuffed but you just cant stop eating it because its sooo good. Deffinently give this a try
