Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This is a great recipe with great consistency. The only thing I changed was I used 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of shortening instead of 2 cups of shortening. Also, I think next time I am going to use less sugar because I prefer a lighter taste, although it does taste a lot less sugary than the pre made frosting that you buy.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Delicious focaccia bread. The only change that I made was I used some fresh rosemary and left out the thyme and all of the other dry herbs (I did use garlic powder though). It came out wonderful!

New Orleans Corn Bisque with Smoked Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
It was my first attempt at making any kind of bisque (I'm more of a baker) and it came out perfect! A lot of prep work, but I followed the recipe exactly.

Mrs. Fields Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
There is nothing wrong with this recipe. It is my first attempt and they are not rock hard or anything. They are just perfect. I did add about 1/4 tsp of baking powder that is it. I baked them exactly for 13 minutes and not a single dark edge.

These were awesome. I am gonna keep this as my main chocolate chip cookie recipe. I used white chocolate chips because my fiance doesn't like regular chocolate.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I have been making this recipe for 5 years now and it is my husband's absolute favorite thing that I make. He has been begging me to make it for 2 weeks now. The recipe is quite involved and I work odd hours, so I have not had the pleasure of making it for a while now. But since I was on here, I thought I'd give it the awesome review it deserves. The recipe is pretty much right on and the only thing you have to do is find a good pie crust recipe.

So far, this is the only successful coconut macaroon recipe that I have tried. I dipped the bottoms of them in white chocolate. They came out delicious.

Pastry Cream

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
great pastry cream recipe. For all of you who are getting lumps, there are a couple of way to prevent lumps. Have a good wisk and constantly wisk it while its on the heat. If it still comes out lumpy for whatever reason, put it through a strainer.

Creamy Smashed Potatoes

I didn't bake and instead of onion salt I used a little garlic powder and it came out excellent. I would say the best smashed potatoes I've ever had.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2013
Great recipe. This strawberry rhubarb pie comes out perfect if you follow the instructions. Let the strawberries and rhubarb sit with the flour and sugar for the 30 mins and use the lattice crust for the extra ventilation. In my opinion, strawberry rhubarb pie is best served cold, so let it cool! Served with whipped cream is even better.

This is a very good recipe for scones. I used the cranberry alternation and just squeezed some orange juice into the sourcream and egg and they came out delicious.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
delicious! The only thing I did differently was, instead of mountain dew, I used this mexican lime soda called jarritos because the store didnt have mountain dew. But, I tasted it and it tasted very similar to mountain dew, if not, it tasted better. Also, I did cut down the recipe, but not by half. I just cut it down by about a quarter. I used 1 cup of sugar instead of 1 1/2 and, instead of 1 cup of butter, I used 3/4 cups and it came out perfect. Serve it with whipped cream and its delicious!
