Cole Porter Slaw

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
Absolutely FABULOUS. After making this, I don't think I can ever eat store bouught again. I didn't have some items so I substituted. I used rice wine vinegar, red onion, garlic aoili mustard and dark brown sugar. I think the buttermilk and mustard really makes this recipe special.

Savory Rosemary Bread Pudding

Super. I used whole milk instead of the more fattening stuff. I also added kale and butternut squash (sauted before hand) and it was simply yummy.

Sugar Free Rugelach

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
They took 15 minutes longer to bake than stated. They also tasted rather salty (from the cream cheese) when they 1st came out of the oven. Oddly enough they became tastier/sweeter over time. They were scrumptious when they were 2 days old!

Grilled Rock Lobster Tails

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I won't be able to eat lobster tails any other way. They were the BEST!!! Didn't even need drawn butter...although it was nice to have. I used fresh garlic, fresh parsley, a squeeze or two of meyer lemon, salt, fresh ground pepper, a dash of paprika and butter.

Eggnog II

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
VERY eggy flavor. Well, I overcooked it. Should have read all of the reviews that said to heat to 170 degrees. I was excited about not having to temper the eggs...but it didn't work out for me. I'm going to try again, but this time temper the eggs and cut it down to 3 yolks.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
So good they ought to be illegal. Fluffed up beautifully. I used 2 1/4 tsp double acting baking instead of the 4 tsp, used unsalted butter and substituted the milk with buttermilk. I also put in some freshly ground pepper and topped with some cheddar cheese.

Mom's Best Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
The easiest recipe for waffles. Finally, I don't have to separate yolks from whites and whip the whites etc. I added vanilla, 4 tbsp sour cream, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and used butter instead of oil. Batter seemed thin at first, but fluffed up nicely in the waffle iron. Lacked the crispness that I get when I go through the pains of whipping egg whites etc.

Lemon Curd

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
Delicious! I tempered the eggs and cut down on the sugar. Also I used Meyer lemons which are sweeter than regular lemons (that's why I used 3/4 cup of sugar). I ran the curd through a strainer to get and lumps/egg bits out. Smooth and perfect.

Gingerbread Houses Article - Allrecipes.com

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Baking soda makes it rise too much for a gingerbread house and I had to add 2 cups of additional flour because the dough was too loose. Makes for great cookies. My kids loved them.

Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Moist and delicious. A hit with everyone. I cut the batch in half and added 1/2 cup of lemon juice in order to give it some zing.
