About this Cook
I can only hope to cook like my mom some day.
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything. I love trying new things and tweaking recipes. I tend to bake a lot when I want to relax and unwind, and spicy food is at the top of my list of things to create!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Prime rib on Christmas Eve, cinnamon buns and mimosas on Christmas Morning, and giant pots of spaghetti sauce with mom =)
My cooking triumphs
I have perfected my chocolate chip cookies, everyone LOVES them when I take them places. I also can make amazing Lumpia. My first time trying, they turned out great and I was SO nervous they wouldn't =).
My cooking tragedies
No tragedies yet, but i'm sure there have been bumps along the way. I'll update!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread
Wow, these really do melt in your mouth! I added an extra 1/8 cup of sugar and a tsp. of vanilla extract. I whipped the butter first in the stand mixer for about 20 minutes and then added the other ingredients and mixed for another 10. Baked at 325 for 12 minutes. On some of them, I thumb-printed and added a bit of jam to the indentation before cooking--those were my favorite. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken
Delicious! I made the sauce on the stove top and added shallots and italian seasoning. I also used chicken breast tenders and baked them at 350 for about 20 minutes, then broiled for 5. This turned out FANTASTIC.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
These were great. I'd give them 4.5 stars if I could. I didn't give them 5 because I did add a tsp. or vanilla and a dash of cinnamon. I used Simply Jif creamy which has lower sodium and lower sugar. I used all white sugar as the recipe stats. I topped some of them with a chocolate chunk, some with white chocolate chips, and left some plain. All delicious. Super easy!!
