Original Recipe French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
I used traditional restaurant style "french toast" bread cut the recipe in half as two eggs makes 3 slices (6 halves) to feed myself and my husband... Followed the recipe to a T other than adding a small pinch of nutmeg. DELICIOUS! We loved it!!

Mushroom Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
Not a big fan of meatloaf but this was DELICIOUS!! Even my hubby who stays away from ground beef, loved this dish! I did make a couple changes, as suggested by other reviewers, which are as follows; sauteed pre sliced fresh portabella mushrooms with the 1/2 cup of onions and diced bell peppers in a pan with 2 cloves of garlic before mixing into ground beef mixture. Used garlic herb flavored bread crumbs and baked at 375 degrees for an hour and a half.. Paired this with sauteed green beans/bacon bits and mashed potatoes and we were in heaven!! Definitely will be making this many, many more nights to come!

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Perfect! This was some of the best shrimp I've had in a while and so easy to make! Made them in the broiler about 6 mins per side. I love heat so the spice was just fine for us, BUT if you don't care too much for spicy foods or are feeding young children, I would highly suggest bringing the red pepper down a notch. Also I cut the salt in half as suggested by other reviewers and it was plenty salty even w/ this adjustment! Thanks for a great dinner recipe!

Easy Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
Umm I'm not quite sure what to rate this. I made two minor adjustments in adding 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt and 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper. But the amount of lemon juice and soy sauce was TOO much I think w/ or w/o me having added these ingredients. So IF I ever make this again I will cut both in half. I still can't shake the overwhelming taste out of my mouth! (Also I made this over the stove, not a grill)

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
What can I say other than DELICIOUS!!! I followed the recipe to a T, the only improvement I made was adding one extra banana. 1 cup is approx 2 bananas, I used 3 and they were the best treats I've ever tasted. Make them and you won't disappoint!!

This wasn't great, missing something, not quite sure what. I made it a few more times after simply giving it up, cause it just isn't that good. Not BAD though, just OK

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
Maybe this would have come out better if it had been make in a rice cooker. Me nor my husband cared for it. Too mushy and did not taste authentic at all. On a positive note, my two year old gobbled it up

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
Was DELICIOUS! Used seasoning salt and pepper along with garlic salt when browning the meat, and added a little extra salt and pepper directly into the slow cooker after everything else had been added. But otherwise followed the recipe exactly! So yummy, will make again and again

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This honestly wasnt great. Didnt have all ingrediants on hand so that may be why. Used 1 tblespn white sugar instead of brown, no cashews and minced garlic. Plus I added a little cayenne pepper. Just didnt enjoy at all. The soy sauce/butter mixture wasnt a pleaser either. :-(

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Pretty much perfect. Could've used a little something eles (hence the 4 stars) just dont know what. But these were definatly good. Followed all directions as written. Used the skinny aaparagus, came out to desired tenderness. Poured a couple drops of the sauce over them the last minute of baking. What more can I say? Thanks for the great recipe!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
This definatly was good! I made a few changes in the way I layered it and cut down on the sour cream. I think had I not I would have given this 5 stars. With that being said here is what I did: I halved the recipe (was only cooking for two) used about 1/3 cup sour cream (half would've been 3/4) used Barilla's Baking sauce and layered as follows. Half of the ziti, half sauce, prov. cheese, sour cream. Other half ziti, sauce and so on. Next time, and they're DEFINATLY will be a next time I will layer as directed exept the top layer will do sauce first then cheese. And of course you must baked covered! Yuuuum!! My fiance said it was SOOOO GOOD, and he is the HARDEST to please! Thanks for the recipe!

Deviled Eggs I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
My fiance loved these. I dont care for them much, I like the egg whites by themselves but anything more I dont touch it. So I didnt try these but my fiance who is EXTREAMLY hard to please when it comes to cooking for said they were quote on quote "EXELLENT!" Didnt even have to ask. Thats rare. I dont think he's ever told me that so they must have been. I added a little extra mayo, looked kinda dry and took the advice of reviewers and used prepared mustard (store brand, couldnt even tell) instead of Powdered. Also didnt measure paprika, just shook a little on each egg by sight.

Baked Beef Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I would give this 10 stars if possible. This was good for a basic stew. Baked was something absolutely new to me. First off, when I make it again, and I will be making it again, I think I may leave out the cornstarch/water that I used instead of tapioca and add an extra can of Beef broth (used in place of beef granules) My fiance and I thought it was a bit too thick. I placed flour, salt, pepper, garlic salt, and tony's seasoning in a ziplock bag and shook it up with the meat before browing. The flour on the meat with do enough as far as thicking it out. Also I didnt use any celery (didnt have any) and added mushrooms and green beans. followed cooking directions to a T. Overall was wonderful!

Baked Asian-Style Honey Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Let me start off by saying this was great! 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the cooking times?? Lowered it to 350 still burnt by skin, but the flavor... yuum. My fiance said quote on quote, this is soo good, the meat is so tender its falling off the bone! I used bone in thighs.. will use legs next time or drumettes, would taste better. I tripled the marinade, put in ziplock bags next time when I have time, will mariande over-night. Used the last batch of marinade to baste while in the oven to keep it moist as it baked. This had a rich asain flavor with a kick. I did add ground red pepper and some red pepper flakes. (everything we eat involves spice) Deffinatly recommend, just think the cooking time is too high. Maybe bake covered?? Can you do that anyone?? Will it cook right/thru?
