Quinoa Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Yummy! I love Quinoa and thought it was a great idea to make it into soup. I decided to use some extra herbs to give it some pep. A dash of cumin A pinch of basil A spot of red pepper flakes A thing of canned tomatoes (juice an all) and some shell noodles. I cooked the Quinoa in the veggie broth tomato/water after cooking the veggies a little. A little after that I added the pasta. I found that the Quinoa kept together this way and the pasta was not over done.

Spicy Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Delicious! Easily made veggie friendly, an easy dish and healthy. I used garbanzo beans, added more lentils and left out the corn, I also made up some caramelized onions to garnish with a dash of hot sauce. This dish goes great with a curry twist or more mexican style spices. Great recipe to use as a foundation and add on to!

Vegetarian Ribs

Messy Messy! took a lot of work too. A little on the expensive side too, I thought it wasted a lot of my olive oil and paprika. I found it to be chewy but good as long as you have a delicious BBQ sauce coated on them things your good to go! As I said good but not great we might make try to make them again. Thanks for the great idea and recipe!

Grilled Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
I thought this was great! I love spicy stuff so I even added some red pepper flake but don't be fooled, for those of you that "like" spicy food but don't eat it all the time, the tomatoes with peppers can be just enough. I baked the fish and served it on rice and made sure there was lots of juice, the only problem was the fish got over cooked so check it often. Thanks for the great recipe!

Sweet Potato, Carrot, Apple, and Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
I found it to be too sweet and not enough flavor. I added 1/2 teaspoon tumeric, a few extra dashes of everything else, some garlic, a dribble of balsamic vinegar, and two cut up stalks of celery. I did put it in the blender for just a few seconds per batch and poured it over brown rice. Feta cheese was delicious in it. Over all good dish, just felt it needed more of a kick.

Portuguese Fresh Tuna (Sauce and Marinade)

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
This is wonderfulllllllllllll!!! I had no idea what the "pimenta moida" pepper stuff was but I used red pepper flakes and a dash of chilli powder and called it good. I made potatoes and rice and found it to be perfect with both. I was slo in a hurry and didn't let the fish sit in the mixture for very long but made the sauce and it added just enough kick!! So yummy!

Very Easy Mushroom Barley Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
So yummy! Great as is as well as zested up a bit. I like to cook it with a bay leaf or two, minced hot pepper, and at the end I garnish with cilantro and a splash on V8 juice. My boyfriend likes it plain so I just do it to my bowl. YUM Yum yyyyyyuuummmm!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
These lacked in flavor and the cooking time and heat were way off. If you have made french fries from scratch at home before this is a good starting place. I suggest 400F and 30min total cook time, remember to rotate in oven half way through cooking. Also sprinkle a little salt before cooking.

Vegetarian Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Great base for any veggie quiche! I used this as a rough guide to how much stuff to put in my crust but ended up cutting too many vaggies (I just used a little of everything I had) and then needed to add an egg and 1 egg white extra to try and compensate and it worked out just fine! Used feta for cheese and bacobits for fun :) Topped each piece with some tapatio and sour cream. YUM!

Zucchini Bites

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
These are really tasty and easily made vegetarian (use baco bits or no bacon). I didn't expect these to be quite as quiche like as they are- I also considered adding more flour but am glad I didn't! I think the picture is what threw me off, but really these are like mini zucchini quiches!

Italian Rib Eye

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
DELICIOUS! I didn't have 2 of the fresh herbs but no matter, I used dried and it still came out AMAZING! I also didn't let it marinate for a full hour and I don't think that would have made much of a difference. I broiled my rib eye. This went wonderfully with an arugula, walnut, craisin, bleu cheese vinaigrette salad. YUM!

Grandpa Crotts BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
Tried it and sed it as a base and added to it. Molasses, more worcestershire sauce and some brown sugar and some jameson whiskey- it doesn't have a full bodied flavor and could use some smoke flavor but once I doctored it up it was good.
