About this Cook
I'm a 23 year old stay at home mom to a toddler and I love to cook! I live in Arizona and my husband is from New Mexico.... so I am a huge fan of REAL mexican food all things hot and spicy. I'm originally from the central coast of California, so I like to cook alot of food that is popular there as well :) "Santa Maria" style tri-tip
My favorite things to cook
Bread (all the bread we eat, even sandwich bread is homemade) mostly portuguese sweetbread, cookies, sauces and soups from scratch, Tri-tip (santa maria style hahaha), basically anything! I perfer making everything from scratch because it is cheaper, and I have plently of time and patience.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Tri-tip grilling! Awesome! My mom was a dinner in a box person, so all my family traditions are starting with me :)
My cooking triumphs
In the process of mastering breads.
My cooking tragedies
I don't fail often hahaha. I cook everday so i et plently of practice. Usualy the stuff i mess up on is the "easy" casserole food with rice involved. I can cook rice on the stove, but not in the oven.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
The dough was incredibly wet, even after the one hour the recipe claims you need to chill. After that first hour I read through more reviews and added 1 cup powdered sugar. I have been slowly cutting and popping them in the freezer on parchment per reviewers directions. The cookies poofed some, they look pretty good other than the brown edges (temperature or from me putting directly on metal cookie sheet I'm guessing). They are decent tasting, I can smell and taste the eggs (so much egg!) they are soft and cake like on the inside. I don't feel these are true to the texture or taste a sugar cookie should have. But they are a decent cookie, a cookie that can be cut in shapes with much alteration to the recipe. And one that does not taste like a sugar cookie, and smells like an egg heavy recipe.

Quick Yeast Rolls
I give this five stars because they were just as I expected! Light and spongey, took about an hour or so to make. Only alteration I did was substitute butter for shortening, it's a preference of mine :) I formed mine into nine portions, and put them in a 9by9" brownie pan and let them rise 20 minutes. Because it is a very sticky wet dough and I was forming them into balls instead of muffin tins, I put a generous sprinkle of flour over the mass of dough so I could lightly handle it, and portion it out into 9 "balls". After baking they poofed together (es I expected) into a square shape but still separate rolls(used fork to lift them out and separate a bit). I have experience make rolls and bread often (weekly) so I knew how to handle a wet dough like this. As other raters have said, do not add extra flour to initial dough mixture! Use flour for lightly handling after first rise, if you decide to.

Cake Balls
These are a hit whenever I make them! I've done funfetti with sprinkles, red velvet, chocolate. The combinations are endless. Sometimes the simplest recipes are the biggest hits! This is the case with this recipe!
