Best Carrot Cake Ever

Definitely NOT the best carrot cake ever. I already have a great carrot cake recipe but wanted to try this one expecting it to be so much better than my usual one, how disappointing! I followed the recipe exactly and came out with a cake that was basically burnt in the outside and undercooked on the inside. I had to cover it in foil and stick in the oven much longer for it to cook thoroughly. This is a very dense, heavy cake, and the flavor was just ok, nothing extraordinary. I will not be making this recipe again; it was a waste of ingredients and time. Still trying to figure out if I missed anything... Very disappointing!

Lentil Soup

Yummy!!!! Absolutely delicious! I love lentils and was on the mood for soup so I decided to make this one. I didn't have carrots or celery so I went with what I had on hand: one zuchinni, two small potatoes and celery flakes. Everything else was the same. I threw everything together in the slow cooker. This is one good soup!

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

This was incredibly good. I have tried several versions of pond cake and this is the only one that has turned out well. I did some modifications to accommodate my hubby's lactose intolerance and my unwillingness to go to the grocery store for ingredients. I substituted the sour cream for a tofutti "sour cream" and the butter for a lactose free butter, I cut the salt in half because the butter was salted and I used almonds instead ofpecans since I had them on hand. It turned out nicely and we will be making this again and again. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Only because I had to modify ithe recipe so technically I didn't follow it exactly. I gotta say though, if this recipe is so good with "tofutti", its gotta be even better with the real thing!

Churros

First time ever making churros and follow the recipe exactly; they turned out perfectly!!! These were so easy to make, the flavor was so good and the texture was perfect. Some reviewers wrote they are crunchy inside and out, not the case here, mine turned out night and soft in the inside. The shape of mine was a little off, mainly at the lack of nice pastry bag tips, but that didn't matter, they were gone in a few minutes. Doubling the recipe next time. Thanks for the recipe!

Pollo Fajitas

I'm only giving it 4 stars because I am a vegetarian and can't say I tasted them; however, I made this recipe for my husband who eats meat and his first reaction was "these are gooooooood!". My opinon: They are very easy to make it and apparently quite tasty. The recipe works with steak fajitas as well, once again my husband loves this one.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Veronica's Apple Pancakes

The only reason I will give it only 4 stars is because I didn't get the "oh, this is awesome!" that I was expecting; however, every single one of those pancakes were gone (which doesn't happen with other recipes I've tried). I served these with a cinnamon syrup recipe I found on this site. I really enjoyed it and will be making it again.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

I'm only giving it 4 stars because I had to make some changes; I didn't have romano cheese at hand so I mixed equal parts of parmesan and mozarella, I also followed suggestions of adding extra garlic. The touch of oregano was perfect. Very yummy!

Scrumptious Frosted Fudgy Brownies

These are AMAZING!!! At first, I thought the frosting was a little runny but it set well anyway and I got the feeling these brownies would be great even without the frosting. Wonderful recipe!

Cottage Mashed Potatoes

I skipped the almonds because I didn't have any; however, the recipe was very easy to make and it turned out great. My hubby did question "the white stuff" aka cottage cheese but he ate it all and had seconds which is always a sign of "this is good!" I can't wait to try it with the almonds as well. Thanks for a great recipe.

Buttercream Frosting

This frosting turned out way too runny, it just kept dripping off the cake (very inconvenient when you are doing layers, it was so runny that the cake tipped to the side). The taste wasn't all that either.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Soft, moist and yummy! This is by far the best banana bread I've ever had. I cut the recipe in half but still had to bake it for 1 hour and 10 minutes at 325 degrees; however, the results were incredible. Delicious!

Soy Sauce Substitute

I was in the middle of a recipe when I noticed I didn't have enough soy sauce and this recipe saved the day. I did substitute the beef bullion for veggie stock just because I'm vegetarian, but it turned out great!

Spinach Whole Wheat Quesadillas

I was heading out to a fast food joint because I was craving quesadillas but turned back home and decided to make my own; that's when I came across this recipe. Delicious! They turned out great even though I didn't have green onions at hand. Simple, easy to make and soooooooo much better than any fast food version. Yummy!
