Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: May 27, 2014
This recipe is perfect just as it is! I hate the flavor of this when made with cream of mushroom soup, bleh! Thank you for this recipe - we will make this again and again!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
This was a pretty good base, but I had to change a few things. I reduced the salt to 1/2 tsp, and I added 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 tsp nutmeg, (they had no flavor otherwise). I also added 1 cup of raisins and omitted the chocolate chips and the nuts, (only because I was out)! They did come out chewy and yummy, but you have to really watch the cooking time, cuz even slightly over-cooked and you'll have a hard cookie on you hands. Also, if they're coming out flat, it may be due to over-mixing. Thanks for the recipe!

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
We followed the recipe to the letter - it was perfect! It is incredibly soft like store-bought bread! It doesn't take much time to make and the kids love it. My husband called me from work twice to tell me how good it was and how excited he was that we finally found the perfect bread recipe! Thank you Marilyn for sharing you grandmother's secret!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
I did not like this pork roast. I used apple cider vinegar instead of red wine vinegar because that's what I had and maybe that was the reason. Thanks anyway!

Very good! My husband couldn't stop talking about this dinner! Very tender and flavorful meat. (We left out the hot pepper sause, but it was still super yummy)! Thanks for the recipe!

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
This is a good base. I had to make a few changes, but the result was great. First off, I used a 16 oz box of noodles cuz that's what I had. Second, I did not have the ranch dressing mix on hand so I just used regular ranch dressing and omitted the milk. Third, I had to almost tripple the dressing/mayo mixture cuz it was quite dry, (probably because I had more noodles). Also, I used cubed cheese because shredded makes for a wierd texture in my mind. Lastly, I just added things to this that I like, like some green onion, cucumber, green bell pepper, and carrots. I chopped everything up into bite sized pieces for the look. This was great and I will be making this again. Thanx!!!

No Bake Cookies VI

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
I've been craving cookies because I'm pregnant, but it's the middle of July and I did NOT want to turn on the oven! I also didn't have cocoa powder so I tried this recipe...and I LOVE it! I took the advice of others and used only 1 1/2 cups of sugar, but other than that it was the same. And they came out perfect: rich and peanut-buttery w/ a hint of chocolate... Satisfied the craving wonderfully! Thanx for the recipe!

Spaghetti Italian

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
This was okay, but not the wonderful sause I was expecting. The more I try to add to it to fix it, the worse it becomes. I tried adding fresh basil, brown sugar, garlic powder, parsley....it just isn't very good. Sorry.

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Very fun and very rich and yummy recipe. This was also quite easy, I was expecting it to be a little harder. I used a cup of semi sweet chocolate chips and the Tbs of shortening because I didn't have the squares and it turned out great. I also drizzled some melted white chocolate over the eggs before adding the sprinkles and this was so pretty! So yummy (and I had to give a lot away so we wouldn't eat them all ourselves)! Thank you for the great recipe!!!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Along with the other thousands of reviewers, I loved this recipe. I use Prego spagetti sause (for time purposes), and I also like to add a little green onion to the ricotta cheese mix, for color and flavor. I love that there's sausage in this as it really makes a difference. Thanks for the great recipe!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
This was awsome! I tweeked it a little: 1st, I added about 1/4 lb ground sausage for flavor. Next, I used bread crumbs instead of crakers. Then, for the glaze, I added 1/4 cup mustard and 2 TBS Worchester sause, and I spread this on top, instead of the botom. And finally, I placed 2 slices of bread at the bottom of the pan to absorb most of the fat. Fabulous!!! Also, if you're short on time, I shape these into hamburger patties, spread the sause on each one and bake at 425 for about 30 minutes. They make the BEST burgers! We love this recipe! Thank you!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
1st off, I didn't have time to cook these for 2 hours, so I covered it with foil, uped the temp to 450 and in 1 hour it was done to perfection. It came out looking beautiful and I was excited, but when I tried them, they had very little flovor. I had to drown it with garlic salt and parsly and top with cheese to get any flavor. This was a good starter recipe, but we like more spices.
