About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, probably my best cooking skill. I enjoy making Italian, stir-fry, grilling, breakfast foods, crock pot dishes and "down home" comfort food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Trying to master those wonderful dishes that my Grandmother made when I was a little girl. I enjoy cooking for large crowds and over time, have gotten quite good at it.
My cooking triumphs
My first attempt of making a cheescake turned out fabulous, much to my suprise.
My cooking tragedies
Pie crust!! To this day, I can't seem to get it right and just end up getting them from my grocer.

World's Best Lasagna
One word: AMAZING!! Worth the extra time and ingredients! Followed the recipe to the tee, with two minor adjustments. I used a little shredded mozzarella in addition, just to fill in the gaps that the slices didn't fill. I also added a dash of nutmeg to the ricotta mixture (very common in Italy and France to add to cream sauces and cheese sauces). Just a dash will do. This is my Holy Grail of Lasagna. Delicious and authentic!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie
I have been using this recipe for several years. It is so easy and scrumptious. I always get raves and requests for the recipe. The best pumpkin pie recipe I've encountered. I make two very minor additions. I add 1/4 tsp cloves and 1 tsp pure madagascar vanilla extract. I place pecan halves around the outer rim of the pie as soon as I take it out of the oven. Let is cool or serve barely warm with brandied whipped cream( 1 c. chilled whipping cream, 1 Tbsp. confectioners sugar and 2 tsp brandy(folded in after whipping) Sprinkle with a bit of nutmeg...Decedant!!
