Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
Very good! I used poached chicken instead of the canned, which I then chopped up, and used two cream of chicken soups instead of the mushroom. I also used less cheese than called for (I can't remember how much, sorry!) and it still came out very cheesy. It's not the most attractive dish once cooked, but it was tasty.

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
Very good! The breading was crispy and tasty. Just be aware that you need to let the chicken sit for a while in the breading to get to the right consistency. I waited almost an hour and probably could have waited longer if my family wasn't so hungry! I used chicken tenders and fried them in a deep fryer. They came out delicious.

Green Punch

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
Very spooky Halloween color! I didn't have enough room in my punch bowl to put the ginger ale in, so everybody just added a little to their cup with some ice, which worked great. I only put in half the sugar called for and it was still very sweet.

Fried Cabbage II

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2005
Very good. I found that I had to cook the cabbage for a lot longer than 15 minutes for it to wilt though.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2005
Absolutely Delicious! The sun-dried tomatoes really give it a different taste. I did make a few changes. I brushed the baguette slices with olive oil and toasted them for a few minutes under the broiler before I topped them with the tomato mixture. This made the bread not turn soggy. Instead of using shredded mozzarella, I used slices of fresh mozzarella. I put a slice on each piece of bread and then put the tomato mixture on top and broiled them for a few minutes.

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2004
Very good! And if you want to make these a little more healthy, I've also made them low fat by using Butter Flavor Pam instead of butter. I then sprinkle a good portion of Lawry's Black Pepper Seasoning over the whole thing. The Pam keeps the food from sticking to the foil and you get that delicious butter taste without all the fat and calories. The seasoning has quite a kick, so add accordingly. You'll be surprised how delicious they are.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2004
Delicious! I cubed the potatoes before boiling because I figured it would be easier to get the right consistency. I always seem to cook potatoes too long. I also only added 4 eggs because I didn't want it to be too eggy. I received many compliments and will definitely be making this again.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2004
Wonderful recipe! I made it exactly as written and it turned out great. I did end up cooking it for about 45 minutes and could have baked it even longer. The top was very crunchy and the apples super soft. My husband and I ate the rest of it later on that day and even when I warmed it up in the microwave the topping stayed crunchy. I will definitely be making it again -- maybe even today!

Angel's Chunky Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2004
Great recipe! I was too lazy to shred the chicken, so I used a can of chicken instead. It was still really good. I'm sure it would be even better with fresh chicken breast though. It tastes even better the next few days after you make it!

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2003
Great recipe! I think I added about 4 extra teaspoons of milk before I got it to a consistency that I liked. I also used butter instead of margarine. This frosting has a great flavor. The chocolate isn't too overpowering.

Orange Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2003
This is so good - and super easy too! When making a bundt cake, I'm always torn by making this one or the Banana Pudding Cake on this site also. I did have a little trouble with the glaze. It came out way too runny and wouldn't stick to the cake. I don't know if I did something wrong, but I think next time I'll just do a powdered sugar glaze mixed with a little orange juice and not use all that butter.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
These are so much better than Manwich!!! I'd never made homemade sloppy joes before and I was really surprised at how easy it is. The sauce was really tangy and tasty. We finished them off the next day as leftovers and they tasted even better then. This recipe is definitely going to become a keeper.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
I thought these were just okay. The mixture inside the tortilla was a little tacky. I think maybe if I added some salsa they might have been better.

Toasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
Yum! This is so good and super easy. I had leftover rolls that I used to make this garlic bread. I only had them in the broiler for about 2 minutes because my broiler cooks really fast. I didn't use the cheese and the bread still tasted great. My husband was very impressed and said it was the best garlic bread he'd ever had. If only he knew how easy it was!!!

Baked Pineapple Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
This is so good! I've made it twice now and both times my guests devoured it. I didn't change a thing about the recipe because I think it's perfect as is. I was worried the first time I made it that it would taste too "eggy" and some people wouldn't like it, but you can't even taste the eggs.

Stuffed Pepperoncini

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
Very good recipe! The only thing I changed was I didn't cut a slice down the side to pipe in the cream cheese mixture. I cut the cap of the pepperoncini halfway off, piped the mixture into the pepper using a pastry bag and wide hole tip, and stuck the cap back on. They looked much tastier and neater that way.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
I thought this was very good but some of my guests for dinner thought it was too sweet. I used a trifle dish and made three layers instead of the two. I wish I would have left it as two because it seemed like every time I took a scoop out for someone it was all cream, not brownie.

Onion Soup Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
I thought these were kind of bland. I think that maybe if I added some more spices to the pork chops as I was browning them they would have tasted a little better. The rice came out very moist and tasty. I think I'll try to make these again and just experiment with spices because it was really a very easy meal to make.

Lasagna Alfredo Roll Ups

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2003
These are the best! I made them for a baby shower and people just loved them. They're so easy and look so fancy that it looks as if they're hard to make. I made the recipe exactly how it said to and wouldn't change a thing.
