Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
This is a good basic recipe to add on to or adjust. I usually use a rotisserie chicken and fresh tomatoes, but stick with the canned black beans, corn, and chilies- Or leave out the chilies completely. I then add more seasonings like a previous reviewer said to do- cumin, chili powder, a little cayenne, salt, pepper, etc. Top it with tortilla chips, cheese, and sour cream. It's a simple and quick recipe for week nights.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
This tasted so delicious! Next time though I'm going to reduce the heavy cream to 3/4 cup. The 1 1/2 cups seemed to be too much because mine never thickened for some reason. The flavor combos in this dish are really good though.

Golden Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
These were fantastic! Like most other reviewers I used 1/2 cup of butter instead of the shortening. I also left out the additional 1/4 cup of butter at the end because I figured 1/2 cup was plenty. The dough was very easy to work with, and they turned out so delicious!!

Roasted Tomato Salsa I

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
Really great recipe! This was my first time making homemade salsa and I researched a bunch of recipes before settling on this one. It's easy and the outcome is amazing. I cut the recipe in half, but accidentally used too much jalapeno pepper (1 1/2 peppers) because I wanted it spicy, and boy was it! Definitely going to only use 1/2 a jalapeno next time, which is what the recipe calls for if you make 12 servings instead of 24. Very flavorful and delicious!

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
This was my first time making a flourless chocolate cake and it turned out really rich and chocolaty and delicious. However, next time I will use wax paper on the bottom of the pan (in addition to the grease and cocoa dusting), because even after cooling it for 12 minutes, it still stuck to the bottom and came out in pieces :( It still tasted great though.

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
The first time we made this we followed the recipe exactly, but found that the macaroni got too soft in the oven, even though we undercooked it beforehand. The second time, we used rotini noodles instead of macaroni, and taco shells crushed up instead of chips (which held up better than the chips and kept their crunch). We also used ground turkey instead of lean ground beef.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I halved the recipe to 21 servings, added an extra cup of oats, added a tsp. of vanilla, and only had a little less than a cup of chocolate chips on hand. Still turned out great!

Yogurt Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
YUM!! This is a very moist cake! I didn't have the lemon yogurt, so I used vanilla. As others have said, I also only used 1 1/2 sticks of butter and 1 1/4 cups of sugar. We didn't have the lemon extract either, so I just used vanilla. It turned out to be more of a vanilla yogurt cake rather than lemon, but I used a lemon glaze on top and it was still delicious! For the lemon glaze I followed the "Lemon Glazed Cake" recipe on here, but cut the confectioner's sugar to 1 cup.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
OH. MY. GAH. This was the best macaroni salad I've ever had. I made it to go with the pork chops we were grilling and it was so tasty. The only thing I did differently was cut back on the sugar. I used not even 1/3 of a cup. Everything else was the same though. MMMMM...definitely making it again!

Italian Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
YES! This is almost exactly like the gravy we make for Christmas dinner to go over the ravioli we make. We use beef though, instead of pork. It tastes delicious and it's so good to see someone else who calls it "gravy", not "sauce"!

Spaghetti Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
This was sooo good! The recipe is perfect the way it is. We didn't have cheddar cheese though, so we used pepper jack cheese instead (yummy!), which made it a little spicy. I'm sure you could substitute any kind of cheese and it would still be delicious. Oh AND we didn't have the white wine, so we used Michelob beer instead and sauteed the vegetables in it. It still turned out great!!
