About this Cook
We like to travel and have taken all the grandkids to Yellowstone and all the Rockies. We had a 5th wheel trailer until this year to go.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I usually bake all our breads. I love making pies, cakes, cookies, etc. but have to give a lot away so we won't eat very much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with our daughters and the grandkids. Our 9 year old gd and 7 year old gs learned how to make cream biscuits last year and do a good job.
My cooking triumphs
Being able to cook nearly anything that we want and a lot of times liking it better than resturants.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make ciabatta bread. Ugh! I'm going to try panetone next but hope it's sucessful because I love the real stuff.

Ukrainian Chicken Kiev
Instead of pounding the chicken, make a slit in the thickest side of the breast without going through and stick the hardened butter mixture in it and then smooth the chicken over it. If you chill it for about 15 to 30 minutes, you won't have to use tooth picks then finish as recipe says. I got that info from America's Test Kitchen and it really works. It's very successful with cordon bleu also.
