French Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
I gave this a 5-star rating because my husband likes it so much. I do not care for French dressing. Made this and used splenda instead of the sugar since my husband is a diabetic and I try to cut sugar and sodium in most recipes I fix for him. He loves this dressing better than any kind we have ever bought.

Onion Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Was looking for a meatloaf recipe that used oatmeal instead of bread crumbs and also no milk. Found this with minimal ingredients and it is so good and so very easy. I did bake mine in the oven instead of fixing it in the crock pot and it was terrific. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Insalata Caprese I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Had this every week this summer once we started getting ripe tomatoes, basil and onions from the garden. Sorry that the home grown tomatoes are gone, but will have to buy the cherry tomatoes from the store this winter so we can continue to have this wonderful side dish. Will still have our own dried basil and home grown onions for a few months. This is so easy and so good.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
This was a real hit at our house--my husband already wants to know when I will make it again. Turned out well in spite of the fact that I did not dampen the towel. Will be sure to do that next time and it might be a bit less messy.

Made these several times for pot luck dinners and they have always been a hit. Never have any left to bring home.

Pumpkin Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Great recipe -- followed the suggestions of others and only baked for 45 minutes -- done perfectly. I substituted pumpkin spice pudding for the butterscotch pudding and also doubled the pumpkin pie spice. Used the suggested glaze for the cake. Had company for dinner and everyone loved the cake.

Pickled Beets

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Used this recipe last fall to can pickled beets. It is very similar to the recipe I use to make pickled eggs and beets. I usually just canned beets plain, but decided to try pickling them this year. The only change I made was to use cider vinegar. The beets turned out to be great. Plan on planting more beets this year now that I have a great recipe to use in canning them.

Easy Grape Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Tasted this at a family reunion last August and asked for the recipe and found out it was from All Recipes. It is super easy and I have since taken it to several covered dish dinners. It is always a hit and no one can believe how easy it is to make. Love this and would fix it more often, but my diabetic husband can't stay out of it so I only make it when I can take it out of the house.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Super easy dish to make and really delicious. I used Lipton Onion Soup instead of beef onion and I also omitted the mushrooms because I did not have a can of them. I would recommend using a bit more water since it came out of the oven rather dry. I added boiling water to get the consistency I wanted. Recipe is definitely a keeper.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Made this to fix barbecued chicken late last summer -- just loved the sauce. Also used it for several cookouts last summer and everyone loved it. I am ready to make it again, but will halve the recipe since there are only two of us. Wouldl recommend it to anyone. Will probably never buy barbecue sauce again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Very easy, very good. I used Big Al's KC BBQ Sauce which I had made. I shredded the chicken and it was really good on fresh buns. I did add a little more BBQ Sauce when we reheated the leftovers.

Dorm Room Cheesy Tuna and Noodles

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
Found this recipe while looking for something quick to fix for lunch. I doubled it to use my 6 oz can of tuna and my rather picky husband even liked it. I did add some diced tomatoes, and the next time I fix it will either add a little tomato juice or water so it does not stick together in clumps.

A bit bland for our taste. Will probably not make it again.

Amish Yumazuti

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
My husband and I both like this and will definitely make it again. We both felt it needed a bit more salt. I also thought it was just a little dry. When I made it I added half a can of water to the cream of mushroom soup. The next time I make it I will add a full can of water to the soup and it should be perfect.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
I will probably never buy Italian Dressing again. This is really good, my husband even liked it. I did take other reviewers advice and omitted the two tablespoons of salt and it was just right. Doubt I would have liked it with the additional salt.
