Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This recipe is good as it's written, except I used ground ginger instead of fresh. It is a hit with the whole family, we love spicy foods. Thanks

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Oh my goodness, this is the best cornbread I've ever made or tasted. I am no longer allowed to make the cornbread from the box anymore. Love, love, love it.

Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
These were really good, I also took the idea from other members of shaking everything together in a bag and then baking the potatoes. However, we didn't really like the rosemary and it only took about 35 minutes. Overall, though a good recipe.

Zucchini, Tomato, and Onion Casserole

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
The topping was wonderful according to my 6 year old son, he ate most of the topping of the whole thing. However there was too much liquid in it for me. But it wasn't too bad.

Microwave Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
This was my first time making any kind of candy. It turned out great!! Heating the pan and spraying the spoon with Pam were really good tips. I followed the recipe exactly (timing and everything). I'll definently be making this again. Probably for Christmas gifts.

Cheese and Sausage Appetizers

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
These were alright. They seemed to have too much flour and not enough seasoning. The suggestion of using raw sausage and cooiking it all together is what I will try next time.

Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This was good, although I would recommend adding more seasoning. I added cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the flour and used italian style breadcrumbs. Next time I think I'll try seasoning the fish itself. Thanks for a good recipe though.

Buffalo Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
I made these last night just to try them with pizza. They were really good. I did however, double the cayenne and garlic powder. After they were done I drenched them with hot wing sauce(from the bottle) no butter so as not to change the fat content and only a few more calories. Overall a good low fat recipe....... I made them again tonight!!!

Grandma's Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
These were great!! My husband said they tasted just like his grandmother use to make and mine as well. I had a little trouble getting them to get done, I was afraid of them burning per the other reviews saying they would "break your teeth" if overcooked. Mine may have been a little too thick, but I took them out when they got light brown on the bottom They were still chewy in the middle this morning!! Great recipe.

Blueberry Lemon Walnut Bread

I used cranberries instead of blueberries and it was great! Got a little hard during the baking, but after I took it out, I wrapped it in foil and that made it moist.

Barbequed Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
First time trying a cabbage on the grill and it turned out great!! Used onion powder, since I didn't have any onions, bell pepper, soy sauce, minced garlic, cajun seasoning, and bacon bits and put it on the grill in the foil packets. WONDERFUL!!

Piggy Pudding Dessert Cake

This was pretty good. I didn't have walnuts, so I used Sundae topping in the crust and used heath toffee bar bits on top. The family really enjoyed this!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
This would get 10 stars with the modifications I made,( in my opinion). I only used 2 1/2 cups of milk and about 3 oz (2 small boxes)of banana cream instant pudding. I also used the whole bag of vanilla wafers. I layered it in a round casserole glass dish (cookies, pudding mix, cookies, pudding mix, and cool whip on top. I also omitted the bananas, I don't like chunks of banana, just the flavor. Very easy to put together.

Classic Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
This was the first time I tried to make "home-made" candied yams. When I tell you these were "AWESOME", please believe me. I only used 1/4 cup of water per other reviews, but I left everything else the same. The sauce was thick and delicious and the potatoes were soft with the outide a little crispy. My husband ate half the pan! Best yams I've had! Thanks for sharing.
