Awesome Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
Made this today and WOW it's so refreshing! Wonderful! I had the deli cut the meat and cheese extra thick so I would have nice chunks and then I added yellow, orange, and green peppers. My young children even eat it:)

Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
My husband ( who is NOT a baker) made this cake as written and it was wonderful! The cake was sweet so we frosted it w/ a butter cream frosting and I just cut some of the sugar out of that recipe. My kids loved it and I will have him make it again. He also baked it in a stoneware bunt pan because thats what he thought the picture was of:)

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
THANKS CLARk What a GREAT recipe! I did make changes because of what I had on hand but wow this was great! I used broc instead of spinach and I omitted mushrooms cuz hubby is picky but next time I will add mushrooms to mine:) I also used parm/ asiago cheese because I didn't have just plain parm. This is a keeper thanks again Clark:)

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I just finished baking these cookies and they are yummy! I only yielded 24 but I think I used a cookie scoop that was too big:(. My 4 year old just told me that " these are the best cookies in the whole entire world you made" I followed the recipe just as written and it' wonderful. I did however freeze the PB cups so they didn't totally melt on impact. These are a perfect combo of PB and chocolate.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
PERFECT!!! This is one one those recipes that you don't need to tweek, it's perfect the way it is! I did leave out the raisins because I personally don't like them. Thank you for this wonderful carrot cake recipe. This is a keeper! I will next time use the applesauce that other suggested just to make it a bit healthier. Again thank you for sharing your grandfathers recipe:)

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
I am giving it 4 stars because well I had to add somethings and follow what others had done. This is what I did I added seasoning to my chicken breasts( garlic, oinion powder, salt, pepper and dean and delucas poultry seasoning) Then I added 2 cans low fat low sodium cream of chicken soup and 1 can low sodium chicken broth. After awhile I noticed there was not enough liquid so I had to add 2.5 cups chicken stock. I them added 1 can( 2 would way to much) low fat philsberry buttermilk biscuits. I took each biscuit and flattened it then tore little pieces off and cooked on high for 3 hours. I think for the most part it came out good. My hubby enjoyed it. I am a northern girl married to a southern guy and mu hubby said for my first making chicken and dumplings I did good:) Now the leftovers well lets just say it does not get better over time:( If you have leftovers just throw it away cuz it doesn't do well w/ reheating. I will make this again so it's a keeper.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
WOW! These were great and I will be using this recipe from now on. They tatse just like the diner's pancakes. The only change I made was #1 I sifted the flour and #2 since I doubled the recipe I did 1/4 melted shortening and 1/4 applesauce. I didn't want 1/2 cup of fat in my pancakes. Next time I will try adding a bit more applesauce and less shortening/butter and see how that turns out. But over all these were great! My hubby who is the pancake maker in our house couldn't believe how great these were.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was the first time I EVER made homemade icing and it was wonderful! I did what other reviewers suggested and used 1/2 butter 1/2 crisco and 5 cups powder sugar and 4ozs heavy cream. My hubby who loves sweets said it wasn't sweet enough for him but everyone else loved it. I'm not a huge sweets person so 5 cups was enough sweetness for me. It makes a TON of frosting I did 12 cupcakes and a cake w/ frosting left over. This is a keeper THANKS RICK!!!!
