Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2013
I made these this morning, for Father's Day breakfast for my husband. What a disappointment for him to wake up to these. They were hard as bricks. The dough seemed fine and then I put them in the oven and they never got "bready". They were dense, and hard, and just stayed a hard dough. I am upset, to say the least, that I put so much time and thought into this special morning for my husband, and this is the breakfast that I had for him. =( I don't know why it didn't work, there are over 5,000 good reviews for them. But I will not be making these again.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

I made this one morning for my family, thinking it would be a great new idea for the kids. Just really wasn't very good.

Mary's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Flavor was good. But who cooks a meatloaf for 2 hours?? One hour is plenty of cooking time for this recipe, unless you like your meatloaf bone dry.

Breaded SPAM® Steaks

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
This is a decent recipe. I don't love spam, but I had nothing else to make for lunch, so I made this. If cut pretty thin, this actually does taste quite good. I didn't do the flour first, just dipped in a milk/egg mix, and then italian bread crumbs. Fried in a pan until brown. Thanks for a quick, simple lunch idea!

Crispy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
Made this for dinner tonight. No one really liked it. I am giving it 3 stars because I feel like the blame could be on me, as I tried to make it a bit healthier and baked it rather than fry it. It was really bad. Perhaps the secret is in frying it. I plan to make it again sometime and see if that makes a difference.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
Excellent!! The entire family loved it! I could not find dry au jus so I used a packet of brown gravy mix instead. It didn't seem to affect the outcome at all because it was delicious!! This will become a regular in our house for sure! I did not think it was too salty, and had no problems at all with it. I would definitely recommend! YUM!

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
DELICIOUS!! Every person in my family liked this!! And that is saying a lot with an ultra picky husband, and 5 and 3 year olds! The only thing I did differently was to omit the heavy cream. I didn't feel like it needed it and it wasn't missed. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and will make this a regular in our home! Thanks so much for an amazing recipe!

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
No one in my family enjoyed these. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they were a great presentation, and added color to the plate. I will continue to look for a good stuffed pepper.

K-Dub's Alfredo Ravioli Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This was good, but could have been better. It needed more sauce, we thought, and the chicken could use more seasoning other than the italian seasoning. I will make again, but will tweak it some. A good starter recipe.

These were really good! I think they could be 5 star with just a little more garlic, and some mozzarella on top! Yummy!

Baked Spaghetti Squash with Beef and Veggies

This was okay. It wasn't fantastic but it wasn't terrible either. I don't know what else to say, it just wasn't a hit in our house.

Uglies

My family loves this recipe. I have made them as stated and also used left over sloppy joe meat instead of BBQ meat, either was a hit! Very quick and easy with minimal clean up. Thanks for a great week night recipe!! =)

Eggplant Croquettes

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly as written and it was pretty good. But I am only giving it 3 stars because I feel like it could have used a little bit more seasoning, and could have stood to be a little bit crispier. But as a starter recipe, I definitely think it was good, and I will absolutely make again! My 4 year old loved this, as she doesn't like to eat meat.

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This is a very good starter recipe. I only give it 4 stars, because I used it as just that, a starter recipe. I like a crunch to my burrito casseroles, and therefore I fried my flour tortillas before using them. I sauted onion in olive oil until translucent, then added the beans, and a couple of dashes of cayenne pepper. I only had 2 tortillas, so I put a generous layer of beans on top of one tortilla, topped with cheese, added the other tortilla, put remaining beans and cheese on top. Baked at 350 for about 10 minutes, and then topped with salsa. Very tasty!

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This was good, but to me and my family, it just didn't seem like a REAL gumbo. And it was quite salty. I think I'll just keep looking for that down home gumbo I'm used to. But if I ever make this again, I will definitely half the recipe, as this could have served closer to 20 people than 10. And will try to add my own flair into it to improve upon it. Just okay for us.

Simple Chicken Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
With the 1/2 cup of flour, I had to use a little over 2 cups of chicken drippings to keep it from being too thick. And it still had too much of a floury taste even after that. It is an easy way to make a gravy, but I would recommend using corn starch instead of flour, to avoid that taste. All in all, I think I will keep searching for a different gravy recipe.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
This was very good. My husband was very pleased by it, and he normally does not like meatloaf. He had a friend over that night, and he too really enjoyed it! They both thought the best part of the entire meal was the bacon. Haha. All I did differently was to use Italian style bread crumbs rather than crushed crackers. I followed the rest of the recipe to a tee. Will definitely be making this again. Thanks for the great recipe.

Wow! This was fantastic!! I followed the recipe except for omitting ham, and adding extra sausage and shrimp, per my families personal preferences! This was seriously good!! My entire family loved it, and it tasted great reheated the next day!! Thanks for a fabulous recipe!

Double Crust Stuffed Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
My family did not like this pizza. For the amount of work that goes into this, it is VERY disappointing. I followed the recipe exactly. The crust was good though, so I may make a different stuffed pizza sometime in the future with my own fillings instead of this recipe.

Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
This was really good and extremely easy to make! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five, is because my family thought the spanish rice gave it too much of a mexican food flavor. I will definitely make this again, but next time will either try to find a cajun rice, or will make my own. Thanks for this tasty recipe!
