Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Awesome! I substituted the 3/4 cup white flour for whole wheat to make them slightly more nutritious. Wonderful, moist and flavourful!

I made this salad and people couldn't stop raving about it. Thanks for posting it! The only alteration I made was to add more feta cheese.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
Sooooo delicious, although next time I will add less salt. Also, I had to add a flour and water mixture to further thicken the gravy. Otherwise, it was hard to stop eating it, even after having a full portion. Leftovers didn't last a day in the fridge - a new hubby favourite. Even my 4 year old ate some!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
My Grandma asked for "real" peanut butter cookies for the holidays. She loves these so much that she's rationed herself by putting two cookies in a baggie and freezing them! I followed some of the suggested alterations, such as adding more peanut butter and adding vanilla extract. I also used smooth pb instead of chunky. Delicious!

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night, and I served it in hollowed-out gourds. I had 10 people for dinner, and everyone couldn't stop raving about it. I made the soup two days in advance and kept it refrigerated. When it came time to serve it, I squirted the cream and swirled it on top, with a sprinkle of nutmeg and chopped fresh chives from my garden. I highly recommend this recipe!

Quinoa Side Dish

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
Yummy! I added some extra seasoning to spice it up a bit, as I found the original recipe just a bit on the bland side.

Mom's Authentic Kosher Cholent Recipe

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
I thought this recipe a bit bland, so I improved it thus: I omitted the mushroom soup mix but added worchestershire sauce for depth of flavour and added more onions. Comments from my Israeli father-in-law were that I should add more starch, so next time I will add more potatoes. I also used beef stewing bones as the bottom layer, and fully browned both the bones and the beef cubes before adding them to the pot.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

My pie was a bit watery, so next time I'll add a little more flour to the mix. Otherwise, my guests couldn't stop raving about it!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
I've made this twice now, and the roast comes out well each time. Still not as moist as I would like, but to a perfect medium-rare.

Authentic Chinese Egg Rolls (from a Chinese person)

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
These were very tasty, and not too salty. My only criticism is that they are slightly bland. I added some celery and a few bean sprouts to the mixture, as well as some garlic to spruce things up a bit and add more depth to the egg rolls.
