BLT Bacon Bowls

yum! Made these tonight and put in the Fresh Express apple cheddar salad in each one and served with a dinner we had with friends. The combo of the Bacon and Apple and cheese was excellent. and since it was a quick to put together salad mix I did not mind the time it took to make the bacon baskets at all!

Irish Cream Truffle Fudge

Pistachio Bundt Cake

Fantastic! Followed the recipe except I used a vanilla (white) cake was what I had, and it was cooked in about 45 minutes and I used a large round cake pan instead of a bundt. I used about 1/2 can of chocolate frosting (I put it in the microwave and poured it over gently) then smashed some shelled pistachios and decorated the top with it, and served it with Ben and Jerry's Pistachio Ice Cream for my moms Birthday.....yummy!!

Traditional Gyro Meat

Made this for a greek dinner party for tonight with friends. I got Leg of Lamb and ground it up to use with the ground beef. As another reader suggested I used greek seasoning mix. (there were several to choose from but I only got the one with No MSG) Other then that and adding a little more salt and some garlic power, I followed all of the directions and It was FANTASTIC. Got excellent reviews from all the other families at the dinner.

Slow-Cooked Flank Steak

Yummy! Even my picky kids ate it, but I did have to modify it-I used Italian seasoning instead of the chili powder, and green bell peppers instead of the green chilies. I left out the sugar, and used fresh Garlic because I was out of powdered. I served it with rolls so the family could make Italian Beef Sandwiches and they loved it!

I have this recipe from a magazine that has to be 13 or 14 years old, before my son was born. I have made it every year since and it has become an annual tradition that my kids talk about all year. I laughed at the reviews where they ate the cornucopia over the weekend or sometime later, my kids beg for me to take the picture so they can break into the bread! They eat all the yummy fruits and veggies I put in it too-I'll post this years pic after I make it tomorrow.
