Red Velvet Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2012
I gave it 5 stars because of the way I tweaked the recipe. I use 1 1/4 cups sour cream. I use buttermilk instead of regular milk and use 3/4 cups buttermilk, I add 2 ounces red food coloring. I bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes. I rather bake them at a lower temperature so they don't dry out. *Important thing is to not over bake them. With these changes they are delicious! I bake for my Sister's restaurant and her customers said, they have never had a better Red Velvet Cupcake!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
This is the ONLY recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies I ever use. Everyone in my family LOVES my cookies. My Sister owns a Restaurant and I do the baking for her. She has brunches on some Sundays and this is her big request! Here are some changes I made: I add milk chocolate chips along with semi-sweet chips (I add more chips than the recipe calls for). I also add more than a cup of walnuts. We like a crisp cookie so I squash each cookie and bake it for a total of 10 minutes. They are perfect, yummy, delicious, and addicting!!!

Original NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
Haven't tried with the dark chocolate chips. I only use the original toll house chocolate chip cookie recipe with semi-sweet chocolate. I imagine they would be very good!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
Delicious! I took the advice of others that reviewed this recipe and used 3 tablespoons of corn starch. It came out the perfect consistency not runny at all. I also cut back the sugar to 1/2 cup and for me it is perfect. I did not bake the pie. Like others I used a vanilla wafer crust and topped it with whipped cream. When I was done this pie was truly amazing! Thanks for the recipe :o)

Basic Corn Muffins

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
First time making corn muffins & I am very pleased. The only change I made was I used buttermilk in place of regular milk. I love that the recipe calls for enough cornmeal, I love the pieces of cornmeal. I may add a tiny bit more sugar next time, but so yummy as is. I toasted it this morning & put a little butter & jelly on it, it was perfect. Thanks for the recipe!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
I made them last night (1st time) for the Holiday. Followed the recipe just as is and they came out PERFECT and YUMMY! I rolled them in colored sugar so they looked festive for Christmas :o) I baked them a little longer and the end result was a crisp cookie. For us we prefer a crisp cookie over soft! Thanks for the recipe.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Oh WOW, this frosting is DELICIOUS!!!! I just made it this morning & used it to top Red Velvet Cupcakes. This will be my new favorite frosting. The only thing I changed, like other people was, I used Powdered Sugar instead of white sugar. It is perfect, not too sweet, not too rich, it makes you want more & you enjoy your cupcake even more with this frosting. Thanks for the recipe!

Creamy Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
I made this for the first time the other day. IT IS THE BEST LEMON PIE and so easy to make!!!!!!! I made it for my Sister's BBQ, what a big hit it was. It was so delicious I made two more the following day. I followed the recipe pretty much how it was written. The only two changes I made was: I added lemon zest to the lemon filling and than also to the cream topping and I made my own crust with vanilla wafers. Absolutely the best, so good after a BBQ! Would highly suggest this recipe to anyone. Thanks for sharing :o)

Yogurt Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent is what I will say! Here are the changes I made: like others I used 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 1/2 sticks butter, I did not have lemon yogurt so I used low-fat plain, I added the zest of 3 lemons into the batter. I also used a lemon glaze made of powdered sugar and fresh lemon juice. This is one of the best cakes that I have ever made. So moist, so delicious, truly amazing. Extremely quick and easy to make, mine baked in 55 minutes. Thanks for a GREAT yogurt cake, my 1st and it's a keeper :o)

Cinnamon Swirl Bundt Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
A very, very delicious and moist cake. I've made it MANY times and my family loves it. Here are the changes I made: I creamed the butter and sugar together, then added the eggs and mixed again, and last I added the sour cream and vanilla and mixed until blended. I also did not put the nuts into the cake, I added them to the cinnamon sugar swirl. For the swirl: I added 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 3/4 cups chopped walnuts. That is how I prefer it, and with these changes the cake was amazing. The longer it stays the better it taste. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
I love to bake, but this was my 1st time ever making Lemon Bars. Found this recipe, pic looked beautiful, sounded easy to make, and the reviews were really good. I have to say they were really delicious, along with myself, my husband and other family members really enjoyed them! Very nice lemon flavor, and I am a huge lemon fan. I too like others made 1 1/2 recipes of the lemon filling and it tured out perfect. Extremely easy to make and perfect for a Spring/Summer dessert, thanks :o)

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Very delicious and easy to make. I too doubled the recipe. The differences I made was I added 1 3/4 cups packed brown sugar instead of the 2 cups, I added milk chocolate chips along with the semisweet chips. As other reviewers suggested I added the chips & nuts into the mixture, I prefer it that way. Next time I plan to add some coconut. A perfect Blondie recipe, a keeper for me, will make again!

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I halved the recipe and didn't layer it, just used it as a topping on my fresh apples. I didn't add the nutmeg. Wonderful, perfect and a delicious recipe. I added nuts to the crisp and it turned out great. The only crisp recipe I will ever used. I tried others but this is my favorite, not to sweet just right.

So, so YUMMY, absolutely delicious. Very easy and a fast dessert to make but yet it would seem as though it took forever! It stays well in the fridge for the next day. That's if you have any leftover!!!!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I have never had a Snickerdoodle in my life before today. These cookies are DELICIOUS and so easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly the way it said and they turned out perfect. Not flat, a little puffy, soft in the middle, crispy edges and a little chewy. All around a really perfect cookie!
