Healthy Popcorn Treat

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
Simple and delicious. Thanks for the great idea. I find that popcorn turns out more tender if you put the kernels in along with the oil and heat them together.

Tahini

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
Very easy and satisfying. I need to be a bit more vigilant while the seeds are toasting next time (they got a tad brown). The hummus I made is delicious though!

Hummus III

Delicious and easy. I made my own tahini from this site which worked very well with this recipe. Can't wait to try some variations!

Ricotta Gnocchi

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Really fun to make! I enjoyed the process as much as the result. Unique and tasty dish. I just sprinkled a little mozzarella on top of the sauce instead mixing in chunks. Possibly even more delicious on the second day.

Swedish Limpu Bread

A satisfying, flavorful bread. Not having an orange on hand, I left that out, but was still very pleased with my results.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I love this dip! I have made it twice (oven method) and have gotten rave reviews both times, both from others and from myself. I've been using fresh jalapenos since that's what I had on hand. Two peppers makes it quite spicy, especially if you leave in some of the seeds, but that's exactly what my crowd likes. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

Raspberry Linzer Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
These cookies looked so beautiful and interesting that I had to try making them. They turned out just as I'd imagined: delicate, tasty and unique. However, despite the good results, I can't see myself making them on a regular basis. The dough was difficult to deal with and the process was a bit tedious... not to mention the fact that you prepare and bake twice as many cookies as you get to eat! Nevertheless, I give this recipe five stars. Everyone who tasted these cookies was impressed and delighted. The only slight change I made was using a bottle cap to cut out the middles... I didn't have a doughnut cutter.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Now, I hadn't made a pound cake since I was about twelve when I tackled this recipe. I had spent a week sitting at home with a broken collarbone and got the urge to make something despite my one-armed condition. I managed to pull this off beautifully and it was so delicious that I made it again only a few days later (don't worry, I have plenty of boy roommates around who gladly helped me eat!) All agreed that the crust was the best part. The cake is good plain, with ice cream or with strawberries and whipped cream. I followed some of the recommendations such as reducing the heat to 300 and starting in a cold oven. I reduced the sugar by 1/4 cup and increased the flavoring to 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp almond extract. I live at ~7000 ft and didn't have any problems with the cake rising as noted by someone earlier. A wonderful, rewarding choice if broken bones will only allow you one recipe!

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This recipe makes cream puffs so easy! My dad always used to make the cream filling from scratch, stirring and stirring over a hot stove until the sauce thickened. Of course the result was delicious, but these are very yummy too and take a fraction of the time. I like to top them with dark chocolate/coffee sauce and powdered sugar. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
I turn to this recipe every time I get that chicken pot pie craving (which happens somewhat frequently). As noted by others, the recipe makes more filling than you can fit in one pie plate. I usually end up making mini pies in muffin cups with the leftovers. Also, the veggies will be crunchy if you don't cook them a bit before putting them in the crust. Other then that, I love the recipe and plan to use it many more times.

Ham and Cheese Picnic Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Delicious and easy to make! I followed the recipe exactly besides putting a little cheddar cheese in. I might experiment with other fillings next time. The braided top is quite attractive and a cinch to make. Thanks for sharing. I will certainly make this again!
