Chocolate Almond Popcorn

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I made the recipe as written. This was easy as can be to make and I like the almonds. Flavorwise, it was a nice light taste, one of those things that the more you eat the more you taste it. I might make extra coating as it did not make as much as I liked. I am planning to make this as gifts this Christmas.

Peach Pecan Upside down cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
I made this according to the recipe. I really like the combination of spices in this. The maple syrup lends a lighter flavor to this vs a brown sugar/ butter type of topping besides being a convenient way to accomplish this. I may cut back on the egg next time to make it fluffier. Will make again.

Traditional Cranberry Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
This is very good, I like the touch of orange. The only thing I will change is to bump up the cinnimon by 1/2 teaspoon, which is personal preference. Will make again!

Sorry, did not like this at all. Very bland even with additional cummin and hot sauce.

Chicken In Coconut Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
I have been looking for this recipe. I left out the onions as my favorite dish at the Chinese resturant does not have them. I put walnut halves in this. Wonderful!

Too bland for me. If I made it again I would use more veggies and maybe some garlic.

Nice, moist cake brownie. Simple to do and it makes a big sheet, so it serves many. Good picnic recipe. Thanks!

Chicken Calvados

Absolutely loved it! A good hot weather dish. I made it as written and served the apples and onions on the side with buttered rice. This will be a company meal for me.

Fresh Apricot Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
I made as is and would tweak the next time. I did add 1 Tablespoon flour to apricots because I had some very juicy ones. I would add almond extract to the apricots next time and maybe some nuts to the topping.

Chocolate x 2 Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
I took this to work and it was gone in minutes, not even crumbs left. I did use 1 cup of oil vs the 1 1/2 cups and used chocolate chips instead of raisins. A keeper!

Vanilla Honey Simple Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
This is not the typical syrup but I really did like it. I put it on buttermilk pancakes and found it to be a light, pleasing taste. I did use 1 teaspoon of vanilla becuae 2 seemed too much. I could always add more I decided. For me 2 would have been too much. Do try!

Peanut Crunch Cake

This is a nice cake for a change of pace when getting away from the all chocolate mind set. I love PB so this was right up my alley! Thank you for it.

Canada Day Nanaimo Bar Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
What a nice cheesecake this is! I was not able to find custard powder. I Goggled it to see what this was and then substituted instant vanilla pudding. I did make mine in a 9x13 and served as bars. Next time I would use a spring form pan, the first bars would have been easier to get out.

Pecan Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I do like this. I am a lemon bar fan and this is a very nice variation on that. It is more on the cake like side of lemon bar rather than the custard kind. I would like to try it substituting lime juice and coconut next time. Will make again.

Dilly Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
This is very good and a change of pace from the usual. I did like it better freshly made vs sitting 3-4 hours. The favors at 4 hours are all one flavor rather than the distinct flavors. Good both ways tho'

This is a different bar to take places and sell at bake sales. Loved the flavor of these. I did not roll in powdered sugar, I dusted it on the top. Will make again.
