Jim's Cheddar Onion Soda Bread

This reminds me of Chedder Bay biscuits. It was flavorful and was moist even the next day. This one is a keeper for sure. next time I may add a little garlic just to try it.

I think this is very nice change of pace from the cream soup type of soup. I did add some wild rice to it, but it was fine without it. This would be a nice soup course at a dinner party. Hearty, yet not heavy.

Czechoslovakian Cookies

I love the taste of cardomen in this, it really adds to the flavor. This will go in the All Time Keepers file. It is simple to make and a wonderful addition to any cookie tray.

Greek Meat Pasta (Makaronia me kima)

I am so sorry to be the first reviewer and not leave a rave review for this recipe. I do love Greek food and this was OK. Not spicy, almost bland. I found it interesting but it is too much cheese for me. Not sure how I could change it to something I would like better. Sorry.

Pistachio Cake III

Lovely, lovely, lovely!! To finish it I made a glaze of 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, 1 Tablespoon milk and 5 drops of green food coloring. The glaze was darker than the cake. The "best baker in town" pronounced it perfect. Thanks for making me look good (again) AR.

Oatmeal Pie III

This is a very good pie and it does taste simalar to pecan pie. I have used white syrup in this in the past but the dark cornsyrup is better. Thank you for this recipe.

Spoon Rolls

These are easy to make and tasty. Prompted by a previous reviewer I want to add to the cooking suggestions. I have added 2 more tablespoons of flour and made this in a well greased 9x13 for some knock your socks off hamburger buns.

JELL-O® Pudding Eggs

This recipe is a good starting point for all kinds of flavors. I did tweak with 1/2 teaspoon almond extract as I tasted the dough and just felt it needed something. Vanilla pudding with dried cherries and finely chopped pecans would be my next try. I will make again - tweaking.

Chef John's Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Oh, yes! truely scumpious, wonderful herb blend. I did brown, then put on rack as directed. However, I put the chicken in a 325 degree oven with the rack over a lipped cookie sheet and baked for 1/2 hour instead of the second frying. It removed a lot of the grease. Still crispy the next day, every bit as good as Day 1. This will be a go to recipe for me.
