Roasted Duck

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This was great, but with the alterations! I know it's good when my husband makes this certain grunt/moan noise. That sounds weirder than it is... Either way, followed suggestions and put half an onion and lemon in the cavity, threw some chopped garlic and rosemary on top, and ignored the butter (basted it in its juice)

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
Amazing pie! I made this the first time for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. I made it again for Christmas and something went wrong. It started boiling over into the oven so I took it out after 30 minutes at 350, still tastes great but was very runny.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
This is one of the best chocolate cake recipes I've ever had. I throw it in cake pans, and it only takes about 35 minutes at 350. It's so easy to do, although everyone always wants to recipe and I am hesitant to tell them it's mostly from a box. Also, I ice the whole thing with chocolate frosting for even more chocolate

Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
This is surprisingly easy, and turned out really well for my first foray into creme brulee. followed the chefpeon instructions, they turned out perfectly. be careful not to put too much sugar on top to carmelize, i ended up once with a crust so thick i had to throw it out

Peppermint Meringue Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
** I changed the recipe pretty heavily** I had egg whites left over from making some creme brulee, and I didn't want to waste them, so I threw some of these together. Didn't have vinegar or cream of tartar so I just put in the lemon juice and they came out perfectly. I had seven egg whites, but I just tripled all other ingredients. Then, I split the meringue into thirds, put 1/4 tsp vanilla, almond extract, and orange extract in each different third. The orange batch was not delicious, fyi

These are really good. Followed the recipe exactly. It didn't look like enough batter but it turned out great

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Soooo easy! I was a little concerned with the dijon, but it was really subtle. I used all of the butter called for and used it for sauce on something else.

This is a really good marinade, and I've made the butter before for other steaks as well and it's delicious.

Chicken Fajita Melts

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
really good, incredibly easy to make. didnt use tomato juice and didnt need it at all. used mexican cheese blend and cheddar, just a regular roll. The only issue was the timing, by the time the veggies were cooked the chicken was way overcooked. next time ill cook them separately and put them together in the end. will make again

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I made these according to the recipe, but it was way too sweet for our taste. It needs more of something to balance out all of the honey. Dont know if I'll be making this again, but if I do it will need some tweaking

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
awesome! I was spending $1 on those packets every time I wanted to make tacos, but not anymore! I've been using a little less then 3tbs/lb, I used 3tbs the first time but the hubby said it was a little strong, so maybe use a little less for someone with a weaker stomach

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Absolutely great! You can add just about anything to it, I throw in whatever meat I happen to have on hand. I served it for Christmas breakfast this year and my mother even went back for seconds (a huge accomplishment!). I put in a pound of bacon and a pound of sausage, green peppers, and onions. Did all the prep the night before so that morning I just mixed everything and it was great.

Ultimate Frozen Strawberry Margarita

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This is how I've been making my margaritas for years! I tend not to measure things out, so some batches are a bit stronger than others. I've also tried it with frozen mango pieces which worked pretty well

Gazpacho

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
This was really good. I think I just threw it all in the food processor for a second and it was done. I added some baby shrimp and topped with a dollop of sour cream for serving
