Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Too much parsley for my taste, reduced the amount and it was perfect. Excellent soup!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

It was good, but the sauce was a little too watery. Good flavor!

Mango Lassi II

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Was a little thick, probably due to using a cheaper brand of yogurt, so I added a splash of milk. Will make this again, and again, and again. Delicious!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Halved the recipe (for the 2 of us) and followed it exactly except for using 4 large apples--instead of measuring. Topping was nice and crunchy; filling wasn't too syrupy but nice and moist. It was perfect-best crisp I've ever tasted! It was gone within 24 hours.

Boneless Pork Loin Roast with Herbed Pepper Rub

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
The other reviewers aren't kidding when they say it's a lot of pepper! I cut the amount in 1/2 and it was still a little much. I also had to roast it for longer than the time called for, but that could have been an elevation issue...I will make this again, with an adjustment to the pepper.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
They were okay. I think I needed to bake them for longer. The middle was cooked through, but the next day they were soggy and mushy. (and I didn't cover them with a lid). The flavor was pretty good, but I was not a fan of the glaze. If I make them again I'll do a cream cheese frosting.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
My husband and I ate the whole thing in less than 3 days. He's been asking me to make it again ever since! I didn't have chocolate cake mix or chocolate pudding on hand, so I used a white cake mix and vanilla pudding and then added cocoa powder (probably about 1 cup) and extra oil (maybe 1/4-1/2 cup) until the flavor and consistancy was correct. I was surprised at how well it turned out-absolutely delicious!

Butter Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
With a couple of tweaks to give it a little more flavor this was a great alternative to my main chickpea spinach curry. I doubled the cumin, used 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh ginger (add with onions and garlic), nixed the salt, substituted yogurt for milk and instead of condensed soup, tomato sauce + 1 tsp brown sugar. Not very spicy, but definitely delicious--will make again soon!

Lebanese-Style Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
I've made this recipe three times now and it always turns out great. The cilantro gives a crisp, fresh flavor to offset the heat of the pepper. Delicious!

Cream Puffs I

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
I followed some of the suggestions left by others for baking: I baked the pastry for 10 minutes at 450 degrees, then 10 minutes at 350 degrees and the last 10 minutes at 250. They turned out perfectly-nice and fluffy and hollow on the inside. The custard, on the otherhand was not good. It had the right consistency, but the flavor was bland and unappetizing. Next time I'll probably just used a boxed pudding mix.
