Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Oh man, this recipe helped me make the most gorgeous cookies! I used this as a kind of glaze for sugar cookies, and completed the decorations with butter cream. Everyone loved!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Wonderful dough! I'm not a sugar cookie fan so I can't speak to the taste of the cookies, but they looked great. My taste testers (hubby and kids) said they were the best sugar cookies I had ever made. The dough was easy to roll out (I chilled it overnight) and baked evenly.

Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Very good and tender. I did have to bake them about twice as long as the recipe indicated, but it IS possible my cheap oven was the culprit.

Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
I loved this easy recipe. The last few times I made fudge, it was granular. I used to be able to make perfect fudge, but I guess having kids has stolen some of my abilities! This fudge totally redeemed me when I took it to my parents' house for Christmas. My dad kept complimenting me on it and I finally had to come clean with the simple recipe!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Very good! The only change I made was to use brown sugar. I usually make muffins with vanilla (not plain) yogurt instead of oil, but that was the only flavor missing from the fridge (thanks, kids). Turned out great and light even with the oil!

Golden Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
Great, with a light texture, and slightly sweet taste. I adjusted the recipe only to start the dough in a bread maker. And I did have to let it rise (after cutting and shaping the rolls) two hours to reach the desired size and fluffiness. Can't wait to serve them with Thanksgiving dinner! I always make my rolls ahead of time, freeze them, thaw the day before on the counter, and reheat in the over just before serving. Saves SO much hassle!

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
Light and moist with a big banana flavor! I added chocolate chips because, well, because I just had to. But they definitely don't overpower the banana. The kids are ecstatic!

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
I made this for my son's two-year birthday because he loves pineapple. Awesome. The tops were perfectly caramelized and looked so pretty. A scoop of vanilla ice cream cut the richness a bit, but everyone loved them.

Funnel Cakes IV

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
These were delicious and brought back so many memories of amusement parks and carnivals from when I was young. It was a little difficult to get the right thickness and if I poured too fast, the funnel cake was very doughy and tough. Operator error, though. I just need more practice!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
I will never buy a bag of frozen french fries again. I made this with red potatoes (because that's what I had), sliced into thin sticks. They were so good and the whole family thought the spices were perfect.

Becca's Bruschetta

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
These were the hit of a recent dinner party. I served the bruschetta as a side to grilled chicken and EVERYONE (even the picky kids) had seconds.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
I thought these cookies were great. Soft and cakey and perfect for kids. I bet they would be awesome crumbled into a bowl of vanilla ice cream!
