This is awesome!! I make Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup. I use star anise for that dish as well. My wife doesn't care too much for ketchup. She loves this. I am going to try and tripple the batch so that I can do some canning. I had fresh basil leaves from my garden. That added a twist. Excellent recipe!!!

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
This was about as good as it gets!!!! The whole family loved this sauce. We made it for egg roles. I split the sauce dish. The one I left alone. To the other, I added some ground up habanero pepper. That added some bite! Great recipe!!!

Whoopie Pies

We have a Kitchen aid 5 Qt. mixer. This made the mixing process easier. These little guys turned out like my mom used to make. This originally comes from a German background(Pennsylvania Dutch). Very good texture. I empathize with the other reviews. The wafers are bland and only go good with a sweet filling. That is how I remember it when I was a boy. My mother knew that I stole one because her count didn't come out even. Great recipe.

Kentucky Biscuits

Very nice. I became a little cautious with the two minute Kneed time. Maybe a little more salt. These guys turned out great!

Real Homemade Bologna

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
My children usually do not like bologna. I put this recipe in cloth sleaves. It turned out fantastic. I added time onto the 200 degrees(about 1 1/2 hours). The recipe is gold!!!
