I'm shocked we were not more impressed since the other reviews were so great. Maybe you have to like to drink beer to appreciate this recipe but in our opinion, the stout beer made the vegetables too bitter tasting (not a very good broth at all). The corn beef turned out tasty and I liked cooking it in a dutch oven slow/low but would not do the Guinness again. I could get just as tasty corn beef with a better tasting broth. My husband said that I should have watered down the Guinness with beef broth since it is a strong beer for the cabbage/potatoes which absorbed the beer flavor.
Will not make again and not worth the cost of the beer. Bummer!
