Tomato Pork Loin Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
This was very good. I basically followed the recipe as writtern but omitted the pepper flakes I didn't need that much heat and I used a can of diced tomatoes instead of the sauce as others suggested. I also used thin sliced bone in loin chops. They were tender and juicy and sauce had a good flavor. I think the secret to these chops is to not over cook them when your browning them.

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I made these back at Super Bowl time. I let them sit overnight and baked 1/2 the next day. They were ok but not great. I fried the other half in about an inch of oil and they were better. The batter was tasty not to hot. I used our own hot sauce on the side. My husband thought they were just like a spicy chicken nugget? I did have to double the batter mix and these do take more then the 10 min prep time. While I would use the batter recipe again for other things I don't think I will be making this whole recipe again.

Italian Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I made this as directed. While the flavor was fantastic, just like Portillios, the meat was just too chewwy. I don't own a meat slicer so cutting the meat really thin was a challenge. I would use this recipe again with a different cut of meat like a top or bottom round and I would do it in a crock pot.

Chocolate Covered Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
These had a great taste, I just found it difficult to work with. I used a whole bag of sugar, wow! The chocolate was difficult to work with and had to use more then the recipe calls for. This recipe also made a lot more than 4 dozen. I don't think I'd try this again.

Pretzel Turtles®

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
This is the first time I've made these. It couldn't be an easier recipe. I had trouble finding Rolos so I tried a few caramel Kisses. Glad I only made a few...the kisses don't melt at all... they crack. Eventually I found the rolos and they turned out fine. Thanks

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
Absolutely the best pumpkin pie I've ever made. Followed the recipe as printed but did add a little extra of all the spices as someone else had suggested. Fabulous! Compliments from all who tasted it. This will be my only pumpkin pie recipe from now on. Thanks.

Mr. Head's Spicy Tuna Melt

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
This was the best tuna melt I have ever had. I loved the spicy flavors. The only thing I changed was to put it on chibatta bread and toast it on a panni pan. I couldn't stop eating the tuna fish cold. My husband and I just loved it.

Honey Dijon Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
This was an ok recipe. I made it as directed and thought it was touch to tart for my taste. Added a little more honey to try to adjust the flavor. Maybe more sitting time will help too. The dressing does turn out quite dark becauce of the balsamic vinegar. Maybe next time I'll try golden balsamic vinegar.

Darn Good Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
This chili was okay, but not memorable. I followed all the recipe directions. Took this to a chili cook off at work. It did tie for 3rd place out of 6. Don't know that I would make it again.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Thanks for the best chili recipe. I made this for a chili cook off at work and won first place! I choose your recipe because the name of it caught my eye, my daughter goes to Purdue. I followed the recipe as described and let it sit overnight to let the flavors blend. It was hard not to eat it while it was cooking and the house smelled oh so good. Everyone loved the chili and I had several people ask for the recipe. I've already been asked to make this again. Great recipe! I just love this recipe. And I follow the recipe as written. Can't say enough good things about it. Every time I make it I double or triple the recipe so I can give some to others...Fabulous recipe. Go Boilermakers.
