Chicken In Basil Cream

The sauce for this was wonderful, especially on pasta. The chicken was good, but I think I would prefer it on thinner chicken breasts than what I used.

BLT Dip

Luckily, I only made a half batch, but I wish I had cut it down even more. I tried it with pita chips and Fritos. I felt like I was eating mayo. The taste was too strong. My husband gave it 2 stars.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

My girls and I loved this! My husband liked it, except for the chunky tomatoes. He doesn't like cooked tomatoes. I used a little less than 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes because I was worried it would be too hot for my young kids. However, it was not overly spicy and probably would have been fine with the full amount. Very good!

Sweet and Sour Beef Cubes

This was easy to make. I used only 2 lbs of stew beef and 2 onions, but I kept the sauce measurements the same. I wasn't a huge fan of the gooey flour on the beef. Maybe if the beef was browned in a skillet before baking, it would be better. However, I don't think I will make it again. It wasn't bad, but I would rather eat something else. My husband, who isn't very picky, did not like this. He said it's edible, but not good. He gave it 2 stars.

Baked Ziti II

This was very good. I added a bit of chopped basil from my garden. I used 32 oz of ricotta cheese because that's what I had on hand. I also used a bit more pasta. This made enough for me to split it in half so I could freeze some. I found it hard to mix everything in a large bowl. It was very full! This was very good.

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

I enjoyed this, and I am not a big fan of chicken. I made some minor changes. I used thin chicken breasts, and the cooking time was perfect. I didn't have lemon pepper, so I peppered the chicken. I mixed the honey and mustard together and added a dash of lemon juice. I poured it on the chicken. I cooked the bacon in the microwave and then added it for the last ten minutes. I also added corn starch mixed with cold water to thicken the sauce. I loved the mixture of the sauce with the bacon and cheese. It was different and tasty. ***The leftovers were not nearly as tasty.

Veal Meat Loaf

This wasn't really for me. The first bite was ok, but as I ate more, I disliked it more. My husband said three stars. My three year old liked it though. I made two smaller loaves. I added a handful of onions because I had some leftover from another meal.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Sausage Chili

I say 4, but my husband says 3. He did not like that it had such a strong tomato taste. It was not the 'typical' chili. I liked that it was different from usual. It was not spicy at all. I made it exactly as written. I tried it plain and with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Both were good. Next time I may try adding some garlic and green pepper.

Best Ziti Ever

We really liked this. I made it as written, except I used 15 oz of ricotta. I would not use less. I also used fresh basil from my garden. I divided the recipe and froze a small portion. However, next time I would divide it in half. Half would be sufficient for us for a meal.

Chicken Parmesan

This was great. I say 5. My husband, who usually does not like Chicken Parmesan gave it a four and said it was really good. I used garlic and basil tomato sauce. Be sure to use plenty of cheese. It's so yummy!

Chef John's Quiche Lorraine

I liked it and would give it four stars, but my husband and three kids did not like it and said two stars. My husband does not like quiche to begin with and this didn't change his mind. The flavor was good, but the texture was not quite for me. The initial bite was a bit of a surprise because it was the texture of custard. The quiches I have had before are a bit firmer. Once I adapted to the texture, I enjoyed it more.

World's Best Lasagna

I liked this a lot and would give it four and a half stars. My husband doesn't like lasagna, but he said this lasagna was better than most and gave it a three. My only changes were that I only used a dash of salt, and I used shredded mozzarella. My one complaint is that it seemed to need more ricotta. It was very meaty, which was yummy, but it would have been nice to taste some more ricotta. Next time I would like to double the ricotta mixture. The leftovers are great!

This was tasty. I only used two cloves of garlic, and that was plenty. I couldn't imagine using more. I omitted the parsley. We ate it on pasta and crackers too. I froze the leftovers with a small bit of olive oil on top.
