Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
I made this will all white wheat flour and increased the buttermilk to 1-1/3 cups. I used 3/4 cup natural cane sugar and threw in about 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. I didn't do the cinnamon sugar swirl.

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
My kids wanted dessert tonight, but I was on my way out to a class. I pulled up this recipe, and had my 11 yo DD make them. We used all natural peanut butter, so I had to add a little milk. We also threw in chocolate chips. She used the big scoop, so she baked them for 17 minutes. I think that was a little long, but they were crispy and chewy at the same time. Thanks!

Quick Pumpkin Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2007
I made this with sugar-free instant cheesecake pudding. In place of the pumpkin spice, I used 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1/8 tsp. ginger and 1/8 tsp. cloves. I stirred in a tub of sugar-free cool whip. I put it in mini graham cracker crusts. Very good and quick. My pumpkin loving family gave it, "thumbs up!"

Good 100% Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
EUREKA!!! I bake a lot of bread, and am trying to move my family to 100% whole grains. This recipe works! I added 1/4 cup vital gluten, and the loaf rose beautifully. I mixed it in my bread machine on the dough cycle, then put it in a stoneware pans for a second rise and to bake. It is lovely and tastes great. Thanks!

Excellent recipe! My daughter who wouldn't eat salmon the last time I made it gobbled this up. Thanks!

Garlic Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
I used a Boboli "copycat" recipe for the crust. Also, because of picky small people in my house, I left off the bell pepper and tomato. It made for a rather "white" pizza. But it was good, and my husband liked it, which makes it a keeper for me.

Chocolate Cherry Biscotti

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2004
I LOVE these! I think next time I will reduce the baking powder to 1-1/2 tsp.--I think they rose and cracked a little because of the 2 tsp. Also, I substituted cherry-flavored dried cranberries as someone else suggested. And I just chopped up the white chocolate and threw it in with everything else. I reduced the temperature for the second bake to 250 degrees, and just baked them until dry. A KEEPER!!!

Brownie Biscotti

Good recipe. I didn't do the egg wash--I don't like the way it makes baked goods smell. Also, I reduced the second bake temperature to 250 degrees, and just baked them until they were dry.

Great recipe. Good taste. The three loaves I would say are small. I want to make two out of this recipe, but I need to find bigger ziploc bags. Easy & good.

Beef Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2004
I am giving this recipe 5 stars even though I didn't follow it exactly. I used stew beef, put that in the bottom of the crock pot. Threw in the salt, pepper and cornstarch, added garlic and onion powder, then tossed to coat. I put the veggies in on top of that and poured in the beef broth. I cooked until beef was done and veggies were tender. Then I put it in a 9x13 pan, and dropped biscuits on top. I baked at 350 until the biscuits were done. We all loved it. Thank you for the base recipe!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2004
I guess I was expecting a "gotta have it, willing to die for" cookie. What I got is what anyone would get using any chocolate chip cookie recipe with real butter and increasing the amount of vanilla. These were good, but not out-of-this-world. (BTW: One of the secrets to chewier cookies is decreasing the butter.)

A Marinade To Die For

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2003
Well. . . I marinated chicken for grilling in this for over 6 hours. I used the chicken for a salad. I asked my husband what he thought of the chicken, and he said, "You didn't marinade it, did you?" That is about all I can say, except I pretty much felt the same way he did about it.

Easy Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
Great crust. I will be using it often as I don't do pie crusts well, and it will be cheaper than buying frozen ones. I will be decreasing the salt, and probably the oil. It was flaky, though, and a no hastle at all. Thanks!

Quick Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2002
I made this a quick and easy meal. 1) I used a store-bought frozen pie crust and prebaked it. 2) I grabbed a package of already browned ground beef from the freezer. Defrosted it and warmed it in the microwave. 3) I added a special touch by cutting up some bacon and frying it, then adding it to the ground beef. 4) I used onion powder and garlic powder. 5) I used chedder in place of swiss. The kids like it, my husband said it was good. I only gave it 4 stars because I think it needed a little more flavor, but I am not sure what. Thanks for the recipe.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2001
I have to give this one an A+! I changed a couple of things to suit my taste. First, I only added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Not to fond of cinnamon. I did not add the walnuts or chocolate chips, but only because I didn't have the chocolate chips, and didn't feel like chopping up walnuts. Lastly, I baked it in a bundt pan. It took 55 minutes or a little more to cook completely. Then I topped it with a chocolate glaze. Very moist, very yummy! A keeper!!!

Alienated Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2001
Great recipe! I used half white flour and half wheat flour, and added about a 1/4 cup of gluten flour. Also, I replaced the butter with oil. I did not dust the blueberries with flour (I used frozen), and I use about 1-1/2 cups of blueberries. My husband couldn't say enough good things about these.
