I'm only giving this recipe a 4 as opposed to a 5 only because it is not a traditional/typical sugar cookie recipe. Don't get me wrong...these turn out delicious and even taste like sugar cookies. However, sugar cookies are supposed to be thin and do not expand when cooked. No matter how thin you roll this dough (which is EXTREMELY hard to work with by the way...very sticky!) the cookies still expand in the oven, which is not supposed to happen with sugar cookie dough. Because of this I would recommend the use of bigger cut-outs...do not try to use small, detailed cookie cutters. Like many of the other people who reviewed this recipe I also used powdered sugar to work with the dough instead of the flour as to not compromise the taste of the cookie. I also found with using powdered sugar that it creates a barely noticeable flakey sugar coating that makes the cookie taste even better. I will definitely use this recipe again (I had to freeze half the dough 'cause I was done making cookies after 4 hours, haha), but not if I'm wanting to make sugar cookies. Thank you for the tastey cookie recipe!
