Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2013
Wicked good chicken. No a crumb left! So moist and juicy. Use panko bread crumbs and had a nice crispy coating. Used pre-shreaded cheese from Costco (cheddar and montrey jack). Lots of extra butter so might cut that down a bit. Kids told me I had better make that again!!! I used foil on the bottom and clean up was a snap!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2012
This stew was so good my kids even said "this is the best stew I have ever had!". I made a few changes after reading other comments. In a plastic bag I put 1/4 cup flour, teaspoon of garlic powder, onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon of pepper and mustard powder. The I added the stew meat in batches and shook it. Then I cooked it in my dutch oven with some oil till lighly browned. This adds excellent flavor to the meat. I then browned the onion in the remaining oil and scrapped up those brown bits on the bottom of the pot. Once the onion was translucent I deglazed the rest with about a 1/2 cup of red wine. I cooked that for about 5 minutes before adding the meat and rest of the liquids to cook of some of the alcohol. I did add more vegetables as others suggested (1 more carrot, celery, potato) I added 1/2 of an extra onion with the addition of the veggies. I also took the advice of another reviewer and added 1 tblsp of ketchup, HP Sauce, and worcestershire sauce -great advice...I was told by my husband "I would pay money for this...restaurant quality!"

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
This pie was excellent. Everyone loved it. I read the reviews and tented tin foil on top baked it at 425 for 20 min then 35 min at 375. Then took the foil off the top and browned the top (about 10 min)I made a lattice top for it and none of the juices spilled out. I did add about a tbsp of cornstarch to the sugar/flour mixture. I let it sit for 2 hours before cutting and was a tad bit juicy but not running everywhere. Would definately make again.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Absolutely delish. I made cupcakes for my daughters birthday with this batter. It made 36 cupcakes. Cooked for 20 min's. They were purfect. I also piped in some marshamallow cream before frosting. Tasted like I bought them from a bakery. This one is definately a keeper that I will use again and again.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
That was so delicious. I also added about 1 1/2 T of balsamic vinegar. It made the roast taste like it came from a high class restuarant. I make great gravy but omg that was the best gravy ever! I just added about a cup of beef stock and thickened it a tad. Everyone could not stop eating it. Leaving the roast out to come up to room temp is the key along with giving the roast it's 1o minutes of resting time.

Chinese-Style Baby Bok Choy with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
Very nice flavour-authentic tasting. I didn't have oyster sauce but subsituted 2T fish sauce and put in extra soy sauce. Can't wait to try with Oyster sauce. Only boiled the Bok Choy for 60 seconds and was purfect and didn't add the extra salt. I am going to add beef or chicken to this next time for a one dish meal.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
omg these are ridiculously delish. To stop the filling from coming out you need to make sure you leave about a quarter of an inch of dough with no filling so you can pinch them together properlyl. Also, once cooked flip them over onto a tray and let the sugar go back into the buns. Can't stop eating these things!!!

Savory Bubble Bread

Really really good. Didn't use the sage or tarragon as it didn't go with the rest of the meal but would consider trying them next time. Would use extra garlic next time if not using the other spices.

Fettuccini with Mushroom, Ham and Rose Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
I just wanted a good rose sauce. This was excellent!. I didn't used the mushrooms or ham but this would be delish as well. I used half whipping cream, 1/4 coffee ceam and 1/4 1% milk. May try to cut down on the whipping cream some more next time, doubled recipe but only put in half the ground caynne pepper. Wan't spicey at all. Will make this again.
