Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
I was craving some comfort food, used the Bisquick dumpling recipe, and the result was WONDERFUL. Thank you for a great recipe. Can't remember the last time I made chix and dumplings, but it was a looong time ago. Glad I found this.

Penne Pasta with Veggies

I used the veggies I had, and whole wheat penne, cut the butter to 1/4 c., deglazed the roasting pan with some wine... DELISH! Thanks for a great tasting and looking recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken Marrakesh

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
This is SUPERB. I agree that is using chicken breasts, poach first and add during last 30-min. Also, if you're using dried spices my crockpot recommends adding them toward the end. I also add a handful of raisins. Thanks for a great recipe. Hope my suggestion regarding spices helps.

Easy Company Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
VERY tasty and easy meal. My husband & I both enjoyed this recipe very much. Cut up my chicken and doubled the curry - delish. Unlike some other reviewers, I didn't feel the Cream of Chicken soup overpowered the recipe at all - the parmesan seemed to eliminate that. Thanks for a quick, easy and different chicken recipe. We served over wide whole wheat noodles.

Pittsburgh Ham Barbecues

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
Super! I'm an inner-city Pittsburgher and I always LOVED these. Definitely use HEINZ CHILI SAUCE. Of course, Islays chipped ham is THE best, but other types will substitute. GOOOO STEELERS! PS: I live in Cowboy country now, and I still drape my windows with terrible towers!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Like some other reviewers --- a real taste of Pittsburgh home. A wonderful winter staple, with or without sauerkraut . This is the recipes we all used, although some folks did use tomato instead of soup. I'm partial to the soup. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Judy.

Best City Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
OMIGOD! I grew up with this as a "special treat" in inner city Pittsburgh. We never had much money, but on flush weeks (like 3-4 times/yr) we had city chicken, and I LOVED it. What a joy to find this recipe in my e-mail! In my house my mom and dad worked, I had 2 aunts and an uncle and 3 little sisters all together in a row house, and we lived with gram who did the cooking. YUMMMMY Thank you so much for a trip down memory lane. Gotta be a blog here somewhere... Thank you SO MUCH Jennifer for reviving a beloved tradition.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
I couldn't wait to make this! Tres Leches is my favorite cake in the world. First ate it in a Nicaraguan restaurant in Metairie LA many years age, and I've been eating it whenever possible ever since. I, too, thought it must be very difficult, so I never even looked for a recipe. THANK YOU, THANK YOU for my chance to have a little bit of heaven at home!

Just let me add to the shower of praise you've (rightly) received for this slaw! I, too, cut sugar in half, but that is just personal preference. Many, many thanks.

This is a superb way to use the bounty of my garden. I made it as is, except for doing my squash and onion stove top with olive oil. I plan to make this again next week. Thanks for a delicious, simple and delightful change of pace squash.

Pork Chops to Live For

I tried these on an awfully hot day when I refused to use my oven: AWESOME; I added some leftover baby carrots and added frozen baby peas at the end; also used up potatoes from my garden... Once again: AWESOME. I deglased my pork chop pan with Vermouth and added it, and a splansh of soy to the sauce. Thank you for a GRAND recipe!

Thank you, dfries for a wonderful recipe! I wanted something different to do with my chix, and this hit the spot! VERY tasty. Served with Basmati Rice Medley --- used the sauce to drizzle on the medley. Husband raved. Glad you gave this to us! (I did cut the butter, but that was for me --- everything else just as recipe stated.)
