Asian Barbequed Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2001
I didn't have the sesame oil, so I used olive oil. It was absolutely perfect. My husband was very impressed (he thought he was the only one that could make a good marinade).

Traditional Osso Buco

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
I added some italian seasoning and with no white wine available, I added red. The taste was delicious; however, I needed to cook it longer, probably 2 hours.

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
Of course, I had to tweak it! I used butter instead of vegetable oil, and doubled the spices. I also substituted a couple tablespoons of marsala wine for some of the water. YUMMY!!!!! Five stars for my tweak!!!

Oatmeal Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I made this today. I substitute almond meal for half the flour (3/4 cup for 3/4 cup flour). It is so yummy!!! I added it after the eggs and beat it well so it added fluffiness as that's what I've learned about almond flour whereas to much beating of wheat flour will toughen your baked goods. This will be my new favorite recipe for banana bread. So much healthier with the almond meal and the oats.

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
I read some of the comments and took some advice. I needed enough dough for a 14-inch stone, so I used 1-1/2 times the water, flour (though I used whole what pastry flour), wheat germ and salt, the one package of yeast, and 2 tbsp of honey. It rolled nicely on my stone. I baked it at 400 for 15 minutes, which was a few minutes too long; however, after adding my ingredients for a Greek pizza and baking it another 12 minutes, it was crispy and very yummy. Next time I won't prebake it as long or I might decrease the heat to the recommended 350. Definitely a crust I'll try again. Yummy!

Brunch Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2014
I've made this three times now. The first and times, I followed the directions except I added the cinnamon to the milk mixture. The third time, I used coconut milk, and I added pecans to the bottom layer. YUMMY!!!!

Brown Sugar Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I used someone's suggestion of substituting almond milk, and I substituted toasted walnuts instead of pecans only because I had no pecans. This cake is sooooo delicious. Even the crust has a caramelly taste. It does not need a glaze. Such a treat for the first day of Autumn. . . and the second . . . and every day after!

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
Okay, I admit . . . I tweaked it. I added some white wine with the broth, some fresh thyme from my herb garden and because I was using the ends from the broccoli I had left from the broccoli salad I also made, I sauteed the onions in the pan I used for cooking the bacon also for the broccoli salad. It also needs fresh ground pepper and salt to taste!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2013
I love these cookies. I usually quadruple the batch because I take them to work for the officers (I work in a prison). I like them better when I halve the baking soda and add baking powder (equal amount). Perfect!!! These cookies make everyone happy!
