Buffalo Chicken Wings III

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
Very good. I used my deep fryer (10 mins cook time) and as noted by the contributor used 1/2 cup tomato sauce and Franks hot sauce. I added in 1/2 tsp of garlic powder just because. After deep frying I tossed the wings to coat in a deep bowl. I have lots of sauce left over for other day(s).

Salt and Pepper Squid

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
I think I am doing something wrong. I am looking to duplicate the pepper salted squid served on Sandy Blvd in Portland Oregon (Thien Hong) I have moved to Texas so I can't ask them. I am using more mature squid but have a difficult time getting the crunchy texture and it certainly cooks longer than 30 secs! I have even tried a deep fryer. Adding about 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and serving with wilted green onions gets me closer to my desired results.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Quick and easy. I always add more sugar in place of the flour and as the top is too hard for my liking, I spread a little sugar and butter on top before baking.

Korean-style Seaweed Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Really hits the spot. I also like two slices of jalapeno, a small slice of ginger and a little fish sauce added to the water. I don't think these additions are really necessary, it's just to my taste. Wonderful and healthy!

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
Very good and very easy. Ingredients probably on hand. I heeded earlier reviews and added 1/2 tsp pepper and whatever veggies I had around. One can of rotel and because I am in Texas I added 3 thick slices of fresh jalapeno. It was wonderful! Just a little spicy=enough to notice but not enough to burn.

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
Truly wonderful. A good base recipe. As earlier reviews suggested I used garlic and herb flavored croutons for added flavor and I added 1 celery rib, 2 garlic cloves and the leaves from a bunch of parsley. I chopped up the croutons and the veggies very fine in a food processor and then soaked the croutons in milk. Just for my taste I used 1 lb of ground turkey and 1 lb of ground beef and increased the proportions of the other ingredients to compensate. I have never before used steak sauce but it was a wonderful idea!

Cream of Mushroom Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
This was wonderful! I am in Chile South America and was unable to find a can of cream of mushroom soup for a recipe that I wanted to make. I had to improvise with this recipe. I used fresh chopped dill, whole milk, fresh mushrooms, chicken broth, margarine and I used cornstarch to thicken it up. It was wonderful.
