Kathy's Roast and Vegetables

This is really good! The soups makes a terrific gravy. I only had a top round roast, not sirloin, but it didn't matter. The meat was fork tender. I rubbed the meat with fresh pepper and garlic powder prior to browning. As others suggested I mixed the soups in the pan used for browning in order to deglaze the pan. I didn't have new potatoes so I quartered russert potatoes. Make sure you have some bread on hand to pour over the remaining gravy!

Ground Beef Stroganoff

This was pretty good but probably not worth the calorie intake. I did reduce the mayo content to 1/4 cup and used light mayo. Next time I will try making it with fat free sour cream.

Easy Marinated Pork Tenderloin

I didn't have honey dijon mustard so I just added honey to regular dijon mustard. Otherwise I followed the recipe as written except I marinated for about 6 hours. The tenderloin tasted great and it was easy to make - a great recipe. I served it with baked potato and broccoli.

Pasta Lasagna

It was good but not great. I used Emeril's Home Style Marinara sauce. Even though I added additional spices the dish still tasted a little bland. If I make this again I will make it with the Italian Spaghetti Sausce recipe from this site.

Slow Cooker Tender and Yummy Round Steak

I've made this several times using round and sirloin steak and it's always been good, although I always double the soup/gravy. The last time I made it with a good USDA Choice chuck roast and it was much better as the meat was super tender.

Simmered Swiss Steak

I followed the recipe but the meat did not get tender despite simmering for nearly two hours. Maybe I had a bad cut of meat. The taste was OK but not that great. I will keep on looking for a good Swiss Steak recipe.
