Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
My first attempt at making cinnamon rolls- whew! Now I need a nap! I did it all by hand- next time I'll use my bread machine. I'll cut back on the amount of brown sugar and cinnamon next time, but they're yummy! they did not really rise- maybe I used the wrong kind of yeast? Next time I will double recipe- it's a lot of work for 12 rolls!

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I don't if I did something not quite right or not, but these came out sort of dry and dense. I used half and half instead of milk bc I had no milk in the house, so maybe that's why? Either way, these didn't come out as I was hoping =[ I will try again, next time using milk.

Broccoli Shrimp Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
I rate this as a 3 as written, but with some modifications it's a 5. Added white wine, xtra butter, and seasoned the shrimp with Old Bay and seasoned salt. Yummy and quick. I used spaghetti because it's all I had, but it would have been better with bowtie.

Parmesan Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
My first time making a chowder- and it's yummy! I added a can of whole kernel corn and a pinch of cumin and thyme, and 3 cloves garlic (garlic to the veggies). I also added a splash of tobasco. The soup was really yummy before I added anything to it, but for my taste, it was missing something. Great recipe!!! Thanks for sharing!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I couldn't find the hoisin sauce at the store, so they didn't taste as they would have if I had all the ingredients. Without the hoisin sauce and the pepper sauce, it was just ok. Next time I'll make sure I have all the ingredients.

Easy Spinach Lasagna with White Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
This was pretty good- Not amazing though. I used frozen spinach and will next time use fresh. I did not have enough white sauce, but it still came out fine. A nice and inexpensive recipe. I'll make this again.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
This was my first time making a pot pie, and this was fabulous! I basically followed the recipe with only a couple of changes. I used a whole small onion, because we just love onions. I added a clove of garlic to the onion when I sauteed it. I added garlic powder and seasoned salt to the onion mix as well. I mixed the sauce and the chicken mixture and added a couple splashes of tobasco before adding it to the pie crust. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I will be making it again many many more times!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
I used my Oster breadmachine on the Expressbake 80min setting. Next time I will just do it by hand and cook it in the oven. Banana bread doesn't really need to be made in a bread machine. It doesn't have to rise or anything like that. Mine ended up over done on the bottom, but other than that it tasted fine- not the best banana bread I've ever made.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
This was wonderful! I did the increased cooking temp, as mentioned in previous ratings, and added the pinch of butter on top of each roll. I also prepared the sauce made with the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and lemon juice (as mentioned in a previous review). My husband loved it! I used the Boar's head Maple Honey Glazed ham from Publix, sliced thick. I had no problems rolling the chicken up after pounding it. Thanks for sharing this simple but delightful recipe!

Chicken Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
This was wonderful. My husband and I made it few nights back. We didn't have any cream of chicken soup, only cream of mushroom. We also did not have Monterey Jack cheese nor did we use the bread topping (to make it a little healthier). Next time I will use different soup for the sauce (probably use the cream of chicken as listen in the recipe). We have had leftovers for lunch the past 3 days. Great recipe to make an inexpensive meal with great leftovers! Thanks for sharing!

Apple, Brie, and Walnut Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I give this a 3 star rating, but possibly because I did not follow the recipe exactly. I used the brie, roasted walnuts and apples, which went wonderfully together and paired it with a store bought balsamie vinaigrette. I think the dressing was awful with this combination. Next time I will use a different dressing and will toss the apples and everything in the dressing before putting them on the salad bed. I loved everything about this recipe but poor choice, in my opinion, on the dressing. My husband did not even finish his dinner- which is not a good sign :(

Summer is Here Triple Berry Peach Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I haven't tasted the pie yet (I made it for a girl's night we're having later tonight), but the recipe was easy. I loved how easy the peaches were to peal when I followed the boiling instructions listed on the page. I substituted blackberries for raspberries, (they were half the price). It looks and smells wonderful!! Thanks for sharing this recipe! UPDATE: The pie was delicious! I will say that it is a VERY BERRY pie- if you aren't a cooked berry fan you will NOT like it. I loved it. Perfect with icecream. Serve warm. I look forward to making it again. It was an expensive pie to make due to the berries.
