Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
These are the best pb cookies ever. People should really just try to follow the recipe and directions before they rate them. I was pretty optimistic about this one and made a double batch. They were soft and chewy and delicious. I will be following the recipe and instructions as is.

Sweet and Sour Slaw

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I was very worried about the "no oil" in this recipe. I was very tempted to put some in. I am sooooo glad I didn't.My 4 young children and my somewhat picky husband (though you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him)loved this dressing. I used my own regular coleslaw ingredients, and just used the dressing though, sorry for those of you that don't like the reviews on a changed recipe. Can't wait to eat the rest for lunch, yummo! Resist the temptation to add the oil.

Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Almonds

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I have seen this recipe on Food Network and so looked it up here to try it. Bought brussel sprouts especially to do this. I love brussel sprouts, I can usually eat them all myself if everyone else decides to snub them. However, this time even I couldn't choke them down. I will probably be putting these in the compost unless I can find some way of masking them in something else. From now on it's just plain brussel sprouts and butter for me.

Cocktail Wieners II

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
This was not a hit! Usually around here if it has wienies in it it's a hit. Maybe it was the cocktail wieners, not sure yet. I have frozen the sauce and plan to try it with meatballs?????

Blender Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
This was a huge hit at my New Years Day brunch. It was my first time making eggs benny and I was pretty intimidated by the egg poaching and the sauce. This sauce got rave reviews from my foodies, and I will definitely be doing this more often. I did use the bubbling butter idea. Thank you so much for the recipe and the other reviews that helped lead the way!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I love this recipe, tried it with dried cranberries, not so great, just to dry. The loaf is so super great with an orange glaze as it shows. 1/2 cup icing sugar and 4tsp. freshly squeezed orange juice. I just made them into muffins and it looks great. Makes 2 dozen large muffins.

Beef Cabbage Hash

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
This is a great little recipe. I have made it a few times now a few different ways. I have used left over mashed potatoes, awesome, and to make it a complete meal I like to add a can of diced tomatoes. Surprisingly, all four of my kids love it and my cabbage weary husband too!

Creamy Pear Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This was great! My Dad, son and husband went out and picked about three bushels of not really ripe pears and have been bugging me to make them something with them. All three of them loved this pie, and thanks to AR for the advice of baking a pie in a paper bag, it was golden and beautiful too!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This was really fat fluffy dough, I loved how it looked, I don't know if it was just my oven, but I had gooey dough on the bottom and browned tops,so that was a bummer. There was way too much cinnamon in this recipe, I used what was called for. It left my toddlers skin flaming red around her mouth, no need for that much, I will only use maybe 2 tsp. next time. Oh, yes there will be a next time, I am rating this recipe as is for now though.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
My new big thing is trying Crystal marg. in place of butter(from Costco in a rubbermaid container)It most definitely works for this one! I can hardly wait for my reviewers to get home from school to try them out. Chewy and crispy outsides, this is possibly the best I've ever made, I've made tons!

Spinach Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
I have made this recipe twice now. I make my own Italian dressing, but the rest I pretty much followed. My kids usually start the protest as soon as they see the green stuff, but they gobbled this up before remembering to ask what the "green stuff" was. We really love this recipe and we don't mind the wilty spinach the next day, it's still yum!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
This was a really nice and light recipe, I use canola oil in all of my recipes. I doubled the recipe due to my abundance of zucchini, thinking I would freeze some loaves, this is 2days later and 3 out 4 loaves are gone, and we didn't have any visitors.Really must get that last one in the freeze and quick. I rated it a 4 and not a 5 as it wasn't quite as good as my recipe from my Mormon cookbook (brown sugar is the big difference)

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
This was exactly what I was looking for! Obviously so was the rest of my family, we didn't made it through the one hour wait though. Used smooth pb, no xtra oats, perfect, just the way they are. My new fav, for sure. Just a little note, I messed up on the first batch and they looked a bit dry, so I just added some more milk until they started sticking together properly. I know some of the reviews said they were dry, so if this happens to you just add milk until it looks right.

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I come from a beef farm, so I've had lots of prime rib before, and not much success cooking it. I cannot say it was the best Prime Rib I have ever eaten, however it is the best I have ever made. I used my digital thermometer that stays plugged in, so it did not get over cooked. The top of mine was so hard I couldn't cut through it, but perfectly moist inside. This could just mean that I really need that new oven I've been pulling for though. I will definitely try this again with a little less heat. Cutting the ribs off first and re-tieing was an awesome tip.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Definitely a good cookie. It really is better the next day though. Some of the other reviews mentioned that it was a really big recipe, which in my house is never really a problem, however, if your tired of baking them, the dough is to die for. Before my daughter knew what they were called she actually said "this dough is like heaven". We also followed the suggestion of less flour and more PB. :)
