Mom's Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
Boiled it to 300F, put peanuts (1cup) in at 250F, followed other reviewers advice. While end result did harden, it got really chewy after a few seconds of being chewed. Does that make sense? It didn't stay crunchy. I don't know if that's because of the humidity (I'm in Alaska, so that shouldn't be a problem) or the baking soda. Maybe the soda was old? I dunno. I found another recipe that doesn't call for baking soda, so I'm going to try that one instead.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Great soup. I made the following additions/substitutions to make it more "Thai": 1. Used coconut milk for half the chicken broth 2. Put in two small Thai chille peppers cut in half and removed before serving 3. Added a couple pinches (to taste) of chille powder

Pie Crust III

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
Very flaky and tender crust, great texture, however, it lacks in flavor. I used it for turkey pot pie for left over Christmas turkey. Next time I will add salt and play with seasoning it with other things, too. If I were to use it for a sweet dish, like a fruit pie, I would also add sugar. Still giving it 5 stars based on how easy it was to make and to work with and the great texture and flakiness.

Bacon Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
When I made these, the prep time wasn't QUITE that long. Also, I added roughly a cup of cheddar cheese which made for some much better cookies than the original recipe.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2001
I have made this bread 6 or 7 times and every time the top falls. However, this does not affect the quality or good taste, OR the great crust. I have tried MANY white bread recipes for bread machines and this is by far the most consistent, easiest, most tasty one yet. Easy to modify and get same results, too.
