Chocolate Pretzel Treats

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2014
These were simple to make and so yummy. I loved the salt & sweet together. I used different type of kisses and each one melted at a different rate. The white with red peppermint softened better at six minutes at 200 degrees. The regular kisses at 5 min. The caramel center and "Andes" type mint kisses at 4 min. For this reason it is best NOT to mix the kisses while baking. Bake them with like kisses because you'll have a mess and frustration (some kisses will be in a puddle and the others not soft enough. I put mine in a green quart mason jar for gifts. Happy Christmas!

Pesto Chicken Penne Casserole

I have to agree with Sunflower. Just by looking at the recipe you can see it's not low fat, but comfort food. If you want low fat then you'll have change the recipe. I'm making this recipe tonight and I know my family will love it. I'll make a salad for myself as my main meal and a small scoop of this as a "side."

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
This is a family favorite! I use mild Italian sausage and double the chicken broth because our family believes that more broth makes it soup and less broth makes it a stew. I chop the spinach up so that it doesn't become "stringy" trying to pick it up with your spoon.

Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
This has become a family favorite! This is just like the Olive Garden soup in my opinion. I did not add the cornstarch and water the second time we made it because we were vacationing at an efficiency and I wasn't going to buy a box of cornstarch just to get a tablespoon, and it turned out just fine. This is a winter season regular! Kudos to Christina.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2013
The family really liked it. I doubled the sauce and in my opinion it was still not as much as I would have liked to have had. Other than that, it was very good.

Oven Fresh Seasoned Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
I like everything about the recipe! HOWEVER, the olive oil is not enough to coat the cookie sheet so spreading them on parchment paper is a MUST. The first batch just stuck to the cookie sheet and I had a time getting them unstuck. I am currently trying to "redeem" them by baking them just a wee bit longer on parchment paper.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
We loved this soup! I added more broth to it, because I love soup broth! The store was out of zucchini so I substituted it with yellow squash, which was okay, but I would have preferred the zucchini. I did top it with a little freshly grated Parmesan cheese and that was the "frosting." Great recipe and extremely inexpensive.

Wilted Lettuce

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Our family devoured this. I used white wine vinegar instead of the regular. I used it for the lettuce I picked from my garden (I had a lot!). It tastes very close to spinach salad.

Summer Squash Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
This bread was far too sweet for my taste buds and too much clove. Not my favorite at all.
