Marzetti® Hawaiian Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
I used a bag of slaw (cabbage and carrots) added mixed dried tropical fruit and craisins instead of the raisins and had to use a different brand of dressing, and it was great. I'll be making it again shortly!

Lemon Grass and Chicken Summer Rolls

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly as is, except for substituting Thai chili peppers for the jalapenos (they're hotter, so use less of them). I brought them to a potluck of 19 women-only 1 person didn't like them. Takes time to make, but they are delicious.

Garlic Bread Fantastique

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I love this bread, and use this recipe always for making garlic bread. Omit the salt in the recipe though, it isn't needed. Recipe makes a lot of spread-I wouldn't suggest using it all on one half a baguette.

Cajun Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
Cut the salt and these are fantastic. I added the cayenne pepper into the yolk mixture rather than sprinkle it on top. Everyone loved them. For the few people who wanted them hotter, I sprinkled more cayenne on top.

Strawberry Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2010
I will make this many more times, it was delicious and everyone in the family loved it. I left out the water based on others recommendations, and it was perfect.

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
Really fun and effective design (great tinted green)but not much flavour to the cookie itself. Might add lemon zest like another reviewer suggested.

Pumpkin Crunch Parfaits

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Very tasty, but needed a more spice than the recipe called for, I ended up using 1 1/2 tsp. I didn't make it into parfaits , just mixed it all up in a bowl and tossed the gingersnaps on top. Everyone liked it.

Mom's Red Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
took about twice as long to cook as the recipe said, and I cut the potatoes as thinly as I could by hand, but very very good

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Based on another review, I made the cake with pastry flour rather than all purpose, and I used 1/4 cup of lemonjuice and 3/4 cup of milk. The cake was delicious. The lemon curd was also delicious, thick and tangy. The frosting on the other hand was terribly sweet.

No More Salty Easter Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Made a delicious ham. Even my 6 year old who claims to "hate" ham ate this. Wasn't salty at all, and didn't leave the ham too sweet either. My only thing is with the cooking time-not likely you're going to heat that ham in an hour.

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was so good. The only thing I'll change next time I make it (and there will be a next time; I'll never look for another cranberry sauce recipe again!) will be to soak the dried fruit in brandy before adding it. That's the only thing I missed from my previous cranberry sauce.

French Toast Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
It was tasty, but, the bottom was soggy even though I used twice as much bread as the recipe called for and flipped the bread over in the pan before baking in the morning. It took longer to bake thoroughly than the recipe stated.

Dash's Donair

this is just like the donairs from back home! I'm so happy to have found this recipe I could cry. The only thing to make it better would be to go back home :)

Shredded Potato Salmon Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
I personally would give this recipe a 3 star rating and call it uninspired and bland. It tastes like potatoes and salmon, just boring. It was easy to throw together with canned salmon however. It gained a star when my 7 year old told me this was one of the best things we've ever had for supper and my husband also said they were really good. I also did like them better reheated the 2nd day.

Ono Butter Mochi

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
easy to make, easy to eat. It's fun, it's squisy, it's custardy, it's delicious! Not everyone likes the jelly texture of mochi, of course, but if you do, this is wonderful. I did use a can of coconut milk and made up the rest with skim milk, in place of the whole milk.

Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
Based on others suggestions, I added cinnamon, and vanilla. Still very tasteless. The top was hard, the bottom was too soft. We each had a piece and threw the rest out. Will never make again.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Based on other reviews, I used half mayo/half sour cream. I also browned the chicken in a bit of garlic butter first, and sprinkled with black pepper. Very good. Would have been just as good and maybe better, because I'm not a big fan of Parmesan, with mozzarella cheese. A bit of spinach would have been a nice addition also, but not necessary.

Awesome Honey Pecan Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
It was okay. Not too sweet, but not very flavourful either. Maybe soya sauce, and some grilled onion in the sauce would help.

Pie Crust IV

Tasty and reliable. I found it a little sticky to work with, but that's not a problem if you flour the rolling surface and your hands well.
