Tasty Collard Greens

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
These were absolutely delicious!! I have been trying to find a go-to greens recipe for years and I've finally found it! The recipe was easy to follow and the greens were full of flavor from the turkey leg, chicken stock, and garlic. I modified the recipe by adding some diced onion to the garlic/olive oil mixture and also decreased the amount of crushed red pepper flakes to one teaspoon plus to taste. I made this for New Year's dinner and my guests thought these were the best greens ever. Thank you for posting!

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
These are the best baked beans I have ever made! This has now become my new go-to recipe. It was easy to follow and I found all the ingredients without a problem. I used 12 ounces of bacon and omitted the ground beef and they were excellent! I may add spicy ground sausage the next time. My family thinks they taste just as good as the baked beans from their favorite BBQ restaurant. This is a KEEPER!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This slaw was very good!! It reminds me of the coleslaw from popular restaurants. This is the first slaw recipe I've tried and I'm very impressed. I read the other reviews and cut the amount of sugar in half and it was just the right amount of sweetness (for my liking). I also added more onion (used a large onion) because my family and I love them. I think it tasted even better as leftovers the next day! I will use this recipe again!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This deserves to be rated as a 5-Star recipe because it was delicious!! The recipe was very easy to follow and the ingredients very easy to find. The only thing I did different was marinate the meat in a rib rub I put together with ingredients in my cupboard (brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, ground mustard, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt). I let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours. I then followed the recipe as listed. I think it's important to choose a good quality sauce that tastes great! I used Sweet Baby Ray's Original both times I made this. I may use the spicy one next time. This is so good that I will no longer buy a pulled pork sandwich when I go out to eat...because I know I can make a better one right at home. This is my new favorite recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Excellent!!! This is exactly how I like my chocolate chip cookies to taste!! I was a little concerned about adding the pudding mix, but I'm so glad I did because I think the pudding takes this recipe to the next level. I decreased the amount of chocolate chips to two cups and followed the rest of the recipe as listed. Compared to other chocolate chip cookie recipes that I've tried (i.e. Nestle Toll House), this is by far the best. I have found my new chocolate chip cookie recipe and can't wait to share with my co-workers at the next potluck!

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I made this for a football game party and it was the hit of the party!! I followed others reviews and cut the amount of sugar (to 1 3/4 cups) and it was PERFECT! I froze mine for about four hours (decided to make this at the last minute) and it turned out nice and slushy. I then mixed the slush with 7-Up and served. This went so fast that I will have to double the recipe next time!
