Hot Ham and Swiss Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I've made this dip before and it was a hit! My family makes hot ham a swiss sandwiches baked in the oven and this dip tastes just like them. I did lessen the caraway seeds just a bit and had to use finely chopped regular onion, as I did not have green onions on hand. This is also delicious after it's baked and served cold as a cheese spread.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
I made this last week, a little skeptical I must say, but it was wonderful. There were a couple things I had to change because I didn't have those particular things on had: 1) used cream of mushroom soup; 2) used beefy onion dry soup mix; 3) had to make a quick beef broth because did not have dry au jus mix. But all of those things worked just as well. And there was plenty of gravy in the crockpot to smother the mashed potatoes! : ) This is a must stay recipe with the family now! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
I'm not big on banana anything, but always like to use those few "ripe" bananas for something. I wanted to try a different recipe, so used this one ... wonderful! I couldn't eat enough of these myself. I did add chopped pecans to them and had just run out of cinnamon so could do the topping ...I can only imagine this makes these muffins 100x's better. Thanks for sharing!

I must say that this is the best roll out sugar cookie dough I have ever used. Very easy to roll out with little hassle ... AND ... it makes a lot of cookies! This is a keeper!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
I must say that I did make a few changes to this when it came to the measurements and used freshly minced garlic instead of powder. My 13 yr old daughter attempted this one time and it just did not work. A little skeptical to try this again, I did because I had all of the ingredients, but so glad I did... This sauce turned out perfect! I found that if you cubed the cream cheese and cut the butter into pads, adding all ingredients in the sauce pot and have this on just above low, once they were about 1/2 way melted started whisking until smooth... everything came together wonderfully! Thank you for sharing!

Mini Toast Cups

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
These are the perfect bit-size hor d'oeuvres for any type of party that you want finger food at. I made these for my sister-in-laws bridal shower and they were a hit!! I made 3 variaties: white bread toast cups with a BLT filling (bacon and mayo mix topped with sliced grape tomato and little lettuce leaf; wheat toast cups with chicken salad filling topped with almond slice; and rye bread toast cups with reuben dip filling (filled these and stuck in oven on low temp until filling was warm and melty) ... they were all delish!!

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
This was so simple to make and takes to color very well. A little goes a long way when adding a color to this glaze. I will certainly be using this for many years to some for my cookies. Thank you for sharing this recipe

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This recipe is definitely a good base to start for flautas and a great way to use up left over chicken. I did make some alterations to it though due to not having picante sauce or cumin at the time. I happened to have fresh homamde salsa on hand and used chipotle taco seasoning. Since I was using left over chicken, it was thigh meat instead of breast meat. They were wonderful!!! The meat was very tender and had a great taste. I will be making these again!

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
I must admit, I was a little skeptical that the rice would be acidic with cooking in the salsa, but not one bit! This reminds me of the rice of a local authentic Mexican restaurant. Very good! My husband couldn't get enough and he is not a rice person.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
This was fantastic!!! A little sweet, but fabulously moist and wonderful flavor. Made with a larger garden fresh zucchini, so was not too watery. I took this to work and they could not get enough! Someone actually thought it was apple spice bread because it was so sweet, they were surprised that the zucchini was in there. Great way to disguished veggies for kids. : )

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
This was fantastic!!! All of the tips were helpful for this frosting to be a success. I added cornstarch to my second batch, a definately must of you want to frost the sides. I found that out the hard way! LOL! I made this for a Grandpa's 80th bday and it was so yummy! The 3 layered cake was gone in no time. The frosting is really sweet on its own, but I paired this with a dark chocate cake and it was to die for!!! Definite keeper!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
This was really good. I'm not one that jumps up and down for beef stew, but this was great! I will make it again for the family. I did make a few adjustments though. I was out of beef stock, so used a package of dried beef onion soup. I also used frozen mixed veggies, just added in the last hour or so of cooking. Wonderful on a chilly day!
