Delicious!! Since chile sauce is pretty vague I ended up using an Indian curry paste the first time and garlic chili (the oriental kind with the green lid) the next time. I liked it both ways but have to say that it is PHENOMENAL with a spicy curry paste (use regular if you don't like spicy). I've made it with broth and sherry and DEFINITELY prefer it with sherry but broth will do in a pinch. I also add 1-2 tbs cajun seasoning from this site (thus cutting down or omitting herbs to taste), used half the sugar, and just a red bell. So easy when you use frozen shrimp and so worth it. I'd say it's a cross between a really good cajun sauce and a Mexican diabla sauce.
