This is my guilty pleasure soup, since it cant be good for you. I make it exactly as the recipe calls for, only I about double the amount of basil. I use canned peeled tomatoes, with the seeds. I puree the tomatoes before simmering (I leave them kinda chunky), and when done I just add a small bit back into my food processor along with the basil. Ill also say, this time around I made a stupid mistake and accidentally bought v-8 juice instead of tomato juice. So I used the 1c of tomato juice that was in the canned tomatoes, 2c of v-8, and then 1c of bloody mary mix since its richer and more tomato-y than v-8. It still came out fantastic, I honestly couldnt even tell the difference!
