Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Unfortunately, I did not read enough of the reviews before I started, I would have added more flour for sure. As written, for me, this recipe produced flat gooey disks that I tried to salvage using a pizza cutter and spatula, but to no avail. I was so angry at wasting the cup of raisins, oats, and sugar while getting nothing in return. The people who had luck make them sound so good too. I'd add more flour if I were you, but I'm not going to try again on this recipe. Unless it gets re-written, I know I followed it exactly.

Oatmeal Applesauce Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've made this bread twice and both times it sank in the middle (or didn't rise enough and looked funny). The taste and smell were ok. I read where less yeast and more salt might help... but it looked the same. Would make again if I could fix this (it is embarrassing to serve).

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
This was a fabulous recipe. Very moist and delicious and made a wonderful low-fat desert. I used an extra banana, half brown / half white sugar, and cut the vanilla to 1.5 tsp per other users suggestions. I was also going to add cinnamon but forgot and it still came out tasty enough. Thank you for sharing!

I really liked this recipe. It was easy to follow and yummy good. After serving it, I had a request to have it again soon from family, which is rare for something I've prepared! Followed the directions exactly as is and simply tasty!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I made this as directed except I marinated the chicken breasts for 5 hours in the fridge and baked in the oven for 25 minutes at 400 F. Very moist and tender, the family loved it. A nice simple and tasty recipe for dinner!

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
These waffles satisfied the most anti-health food person in the world. I made the batter in secret so they wouldn't see all of the stuff that went into it and showed them the ingredient list after the fact. They couldn't believe it. Nutty and light, but filling. They also satisfied a very health-conscious person (me). I made them exactly as directed with the minor substitution of whole wheat flour because I don't have any pastry flour and they are fabulous. Next time, a few blueberries on top will add antioxidant properties to an extremely healthy recipe. Great way to start the day! Thanks!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
I've never made ANYTHING from scratch before (unless a sandwich counts ha ha) so I followed a lot of the suggestions on here from apparent top chefs. These Blueberry Muffins came out absolutely fabulous! Neither my family, nor I, can actually believe *I* made them. To other rookies, follow these EXCELLENT suggestions. Don't put too much crumb topping on or the muffins will sink, the batter is thick (though I don't know what normal is so I just worked with it), don't over mix, use fresh blueberries. Couldn't quite get 8 out of the batter, but it was really close! Thanks again. I think I like this cooking thing and will try more recipes! Yummy! :-)
