About this Cook
My Mom started teaching me how to cook and about food at age 5, she said “You are not going to grow up waiting for a Woman to fed you, or eat at fast food joints” She pulled a chair up to the stove and my education started and blossomed. Thank you Mom!
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking German, Southern and traditional hardy farm foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both my parents came from very large farming families, cooking large amounts of food. I have trouble making small batches of food, instead of enough for a platoon of hungry folks.
My cooking triumphs
My wife has six sisters, and for every family function I get requests from them to make special recipes of mine. I love that I can out cook all of then.
My cooking tragedies
Soufflés; Can not get them to turn out right, so I just don’t even try any more.

Cola Onion Pork Chops
I thought this is just too easy to be good, but I tried it any way. I did make a little change in the recipe though after reading some of the reviews. I mixed the cola, onion soup mix in a bowl; add some garlic powder, cracked black pepper with a couple dashes of jalapeno sauce. The chops came out nice, tender and juicy. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the “gravy” is not gravy it is juice. I will make again, but with a thicken agent in mind to make real gravy. Easy and my wife and two very picky teenagers liked it so it was a hit! Thanks
